Just a reminder because they sometimes Outsmart the hardware compressors. Nearly every compressor by Chirs from Airwindows is doing a great JOB. And most of his plugs are free because of patreon. I pledge him 4$ a month and I will go up to 8$
Just today we wanted to have something Program Dependent on the 2 Bus.
We all agreed that his Buttercomp kills the hardware with ease....

I too am a partreon and am blown away by his work as well as the frequency of his drops. Buttercomp is awesome.

Chris is gifted. He is not modelling anything and in the end of the day his tools can compare to hardware.
Butter Comp is just one of 52 compression approaches....
Not to forget bus-colors which is based on impulse responses off different consoles. I have no idea how Chris blends the IRs with the code but it sounds fantastic.
I also like the idea to not have a fancy GUI it forces me to concentrate on the music. In my progressing mix I replaced two hardware compressors.
Both times it was spot on, it shapes the sound, grabs the signal - changes the feel of the source in a good way.

Sorry, can't support a company that doesn't code for AAX. :-(

I would support Chris without getting back anything, and I am not a US citizen.
Because he knows what he is doing, electronics and coding.
He is always into making things better, second version, third version etc. He is not into making the most amount of cash from one generation.
Chris is living on the low without health insurance in Vermont - if I remember right. If you watch a few videos, or read his articles you might think this is crazy, what's the point.... but in the end it all makes sense.
Sometimes changing tools can make a difference and his compressors sound amazing good. Myself I too often overlooked them, but since ButterComp 2 I dived deeper in his compressor works and was blown away.
I just can't understand why UAD or Waves or any other BIG BOY COMP. is not asking Chris for some works in his way, in his style. I think they would love his unconventional thinking / creative process.... again watch his videos.
Or our friend Steven Slate could put a few ones in his package just to support a great mind. Who knows what is next in such a collaboration...maybe some cool things would happen.
The plugs are no CPU hogs, but they do the right thing.
Amen.
