It autocorrected on my phone and I didn’t see it in time before I posted. I went back and edited it. Back to the CAPI info!

those samples sound really darned good I need a pair! Well I gotta say the more I play with them the happier I am. I really wasn't expecting to like them this much. The fact that they're relatively cheap is awesome. I have to say that If anybody ever asks me what to get as a first preamp, I'm gonna suggest this. For my tastes, I've never had a preamp that just sounds right from the get go on so many sources. I haven't mixed anything tracked with the VP28 yet but I have a feeling that I won't really need any besides the included HP filter, just some compression and that's it. I've had preamps that sounded better on some sources; I've never heard a better preamp for bass than the Mercury M72s but the Mercury was pretty dark and very colored and sometimes on some voices just sounded plain wrong, I didn't like the Voxbox for anything percussive, Neves tend to sound better than the VP28 on electric guitar but I always end up having to quite a bit of eqing on acoustic instruments that I've tracked through Nevish preamps. Of course all this depends a lot on the mic selection you have, my mains mics for tracking acoustic instruments in my home studio are the schoeps which are pretty unhyped compared to a lot of Sdcs out there and can sound a bit dull and boring ( compared to say a KM84 ) with super transparent preamps. The VP28 gives them a little edge and excitement that I love.
