These have not been on my radar. What’s the skinny? What are the standouts?

Drbill talks about liking the B3 better than B5...and the string stuff is fantastic.

Hope it's better than that Pedal Steel abomination I bought.

If you buy one of these, use the 8DIO downloader...I just had to redownload everything after directly downloading and unpacking...was missing files. The 8DIO one DL's and unpacks in one fell swoop.

Actually might be a really good compliment to B5. It can get some of those wildcat scream gliss'...that I can't really get on B5...and I'm getting there with the drawbars.

Drbill talks about liking the B3 better than B5...and the string stuff is fantastic. Their B3 will either use an emulation plugin Leslie, or actual recorded B3/Leslie samples. the B3/Leslie samples really feel "real". However - and I've asked their tech support about it, and not gotten a legit answer) - it's tremendously taxing on the system with dropped notes, etc.. Without the real leslie samples, it's probably on par with B5. But with the Leslie versions of the samples, I really dig it a lot of the time. ALMOST as good as B5 into my 122.

Yeah it even drops notes in a chord when you go from chorale to trem.

I like some of the 8dio stuff for sure and agree with your comment John on some of the string stuff. Besides the usual black Friday/ mid year sales, I've found some of my best buys from them has been by adding my email to their list because every so often they will do flash sales on a few items at a time that are too cheap to pass up.

IME....8DIO tends to make unique quirk SOUNDING instruments that play like turd. So--my advice would be to stick to strings or something like that where you're going to "program" them more than play them.
