...but I've searched every which way to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
UPDATE: Since other EV lovers have jumped on board, this is becoming a fun EV thread on the site. There's also another link below Re Jim Croce that delves a lot into EV mics too..

I’ll join an EV club. We’ve got two RE20’s, two 635a’s, one 660, and one RE18. I still would like to try the RE15/16 and the 666. Hard to find decent deals on them though.

I own a USA N/D 868, which is a very good mic for kick drum and bass guitar. It doesn't have the extreme baked in EQ that many other "modern" kick mics have. A little bit, but not extreme. When they first came out I had a pair of the original N/D 468, which were excellent tom mics, not bad on kick, ands pretty damn good all-arounders. The original USA N/D 767 vocal mics were quite good, MUCH, MUCH better than the Shure Beta 58s (which I hate). The less costly ones in that series were not bad, either. All of those cost significantly more than their Chinese replacements, which are not nearly as good.

I have a 635a, PL6 x2, and a PL11 on the way that I just got on eBay. (and a 664 in the basement somewhere!) I'm understanding why people rave about old EVs and hope to get more, but I'm actually trying not to get too obsessed. If I continue to really love them I'll probably buy a new RE16. I'm with John on the Shure Beta mics. I own a Beta 57 that I use for talkback because it's loud. But it's pretty astounding how bad it sounds when you compare to other good dynamics.

I finally found that in the N/D 868.

First mic I bought was an re20...Still have it.Used to carry it on tour as a jazz sax player because I got sick of using mic du jour and sounding like crap sometimes.Still have it and love it. Latest ev mic Ive picked up is an re50 which I look forward to trying more. Also recentlyish got a couple 868's thinking they may be interesting on bigger toms for rock.Tried it on kick and agree great balance, like an eq'd re20

My "new" EV PL11 arrived today from the ebay factory. I'm really liking it so far after a bit of testing. It has that clear, musical midrange I was hoping it would. And it's pretty amazing that you can practically eat the thing without it going woofy. One question I have for others out there that own the PL or RE series mics--any mic clip you can recommend? The handle diameter on this is even smaller than my SDC mics, so I'll need to find something that does the job and keeps the mic safely mounted. Attachment Deleted

I've got a lot of them. I haven't used my N/D868 in years I guess I'm on this e902 thing right now.
Almost all of the vintage ones are really cool. They do fail though.
One of the new ones I really like is the CO4. I think of it as a "secret weapon" I use them on high toms and sometimes guitar amps, or kick beater or something.

Yeah, I've read where there can be failures. But I spent very little on the pl11 I just got on eBay, so if it happens it happens. If I continue to appreciate these mics more and more I'll probably invest in a new RE16. I'd love to hear how the new RE16 compare with the vintage ones. They look the same and there's no reason to think they're not--unless I hear otherwise.

The one I have doesn't grip very securely. As for the original EV clips, they can get pretty pricey on EVbay.

I mean research of EV mics, a couple of places claim they can bring the old RE mics back to life. It would make sense considering that the capsule is still being made for the RE16. So if you have an old, dead RE15 you might not want to throw it out.

I threw one or two away. I guess I need to reconsider, can you point me to some links?

You can always put a couple wraps of gaffer tape around the shaft of the mic, being careful not to cover the vent. That'll increase the diameter a bit.

Stopped into a nearby auction today. No mics or gear, but stumbled onto an old EV catalog of all things and took some pics. Attachment Deleted
