Guessing it's the EV D224. Chris Do you mean an AKG D224? I've never heard of an EV 224. Neither has Google, apparently.

Looking at it again, John may be right. It might be a KM85 which would have less of a breath pop issue.

I suspect it's a Touchel connector.

Tom Jones was known for using Sennheiser MD211 N on his show, according to the Internet. Looks to be the same mic in this video.

The frame at 2:24 shows bars across the front of the mic similar to those on the 211, which the Neumanns do not have. What appeared to be ports could be the ID band.

It was very faint Logo, but I could swear I saw "Be_ring_r" on one of the frames. Hmm... I wonder. Chris

I normally annoy my wife and can name practically any microphone model that shows up on TV we are watching, but this one stumped me.
Almost looks like a shorter AKG D224, but its got to be the MD211.
Weird someone would even use a Omni pickup pattern for live use? That is unusual to be loved by anyone.

Very common in tv at that time.

Yeh I guess it helps with any movement of the singer. 635 is probably another common omni that was used.

If you don't want to deal with proximity effect when you get close for reasons of dynamics an omni is your choice. Most often, anyway
Not what I look for for my own vocals, but something I TOTALLY understand as an engineer..

My experience with 224s is that they need to be at least a foot back or you wind up favoring the HF capsule.

The band appears to be using EV RE16s. But what is Tom Jones using? An EV? It was his often his mic of choice on the show. Those stoned shitless mofos sound GOOD. Groovin' their arses off.

That must have been the rockinest version of "Long Time Gone" that ever was. They've all got that look of amazement on their faces as it's going down.
Kudos to Greg Reeves and Dallas Taylor's performance on bass and drums. I always thought the rhythm groove on CSN's version of "Woodstock" (and the rest of that album) made it what it was.
