Hello... and thanks for the shootout.... good quality recordings.
Wow... the ADK really has a nice, full midrange. All of the ADK Z-mod clips I hear have an extreme smoothness to them..... for some kinds of music maybe too smooth.
Listening to your voice in the mix I think the ADK is a very good match for your voice and the style of music you're doing. Like an excellent match.
The Peluso and the V13 have the missing midrange that I find on about 90% of large diaphragm condensers. Having said that I think the Peluso definitely sounds better than the V13.
Makes me want to look into the ADK Z-Mod 47. I'm just worried it might be too smooth... as I want the mic to have a little more edge/grit for stuff I'm doing.

I like the Peluso better than the ADK. Sounds smoother to me.

I really liked the 251 on you. It cuts and has a bigger than life quality, which I love in a good microphone. Which transformer did you choose?

All three mics sound good. I agree these are good recordings, nice singing.
That said, I thought the 251 stood out as being better than the other two. Like vincent said it just sounds bigger.

Thanks so much for the feedback. Greatly appreciated, as I really respect everyone's experience and capabilities here. As I'm listening back to the recordings I'm hearing some "engineering" issues that I know wouldn't be in everyone else's mixes. I tried using the Sonible Smart EQ on the tracks and Smart Comp on the vocals (demo version). Sounded good on my monitors, but seems now like the tracks are bass-heavy and a not sure that the compression on vocals is set right. I'm sure that is user-error on my part.
To answer Vincent's question, I've got the stock/standard Jensen transformer. Not sure yet how the highs fit my voice, so the Sowter may be something I ask Larry about as well. I've got a Roll Music Tubule 500 series tube pre coming in the mail today, so hoping to do some additional testing over the weekend with that. It's not a REDD or Coil, but I've heard good things about it. I've also noticed that pairing the ADK with my P1 pre and/or changing the polar pattern to 1:00/2:00 smooths things out a bit, albeit some of the clarity disappears.
One individual was kind enough to re-amp my vocals through both a Coil 286 and 70, and also then through the RS124. I may post those up for you guys to hear as well. Just didn't want to muddy the waters out of the gate.

ADK. Beautiful "warm" voice too. Correct my guys if I'm mistaken. But... IMHO Todd sounded like he may be a little too close to the mic (proximity). Thoughts?
(makes me want to try ADK's 47-ish style microphones sometime-as that seems better than 251 on me)
Thanks, Chris
P.S. If it wasn't for the ADK, man that V13 is such an excellent value!
