This is a heads up. *** Brainworx bx_console Focusrite SC ****
I have so many plug ins I dont use but I was told about this plug in today and i get it for free as I am a Focusrite Clarett Owner. So this is a heads up for other Clarett registered users that you have this plug in - Channel Strip - sitting in your account. I have not downloaded it yet as I wont get a chance to test it out for a few weeks yet so I cant tell you what its like. I will have to leave it for someone else to chime in about its sonic features of this Channel Strip.
Cheers

Absolutely brilliant!!
Thanks for posting.
At this point, my $350 Clarett 4Pre, used from Guitar Center, has more than paid for itself in free plugins I would say. Pretty incredible.
I'm going to start testing it out right now I think. Got it activated, easy.

Just to note this is good for Clarett and RED owners only. Scarlett owners weren't gifted this one.

The Focusrite CS channel is really pretty and smooth sounding, with a rather obvious compressor and a functional-enough de esser. Haven't tried the gate.
Sounds just as good as all the other Plugin Alliance channel strips, which is to say, it sounds incredibly good. I think these are their standout plugins. Along with their "Digital" stuff.

on the bus but keen to add my 2 cents tonight.
for now id say you need to know why people use the plugs they use.
there are so many plugs out there and many of them are selling an idea instead of something that has a timeless tone
no offence to anyone but procced with caution when you see people rattle of long lists of plugs.

I would say that's BS. People can use whatever plugins they want. It's not your problem.

I just don't see how what you said is any different from "regular gear" than it is to plugins. There's so much hype surrounding pro audio product it's almost sickening. You almost can't get away from it.
I just opened up an issue of Tape Op and I couldn't even really read it, I tossed it in the bin.
What you say is true but it's not specific to plugins.

I am jealous. I have the other BX consoles and they sound fantastic. I was thrilled to see the Focusrite modeled by bx. They do a great job as well as the fact that I haven't seen that strip modeled yet.

There is the utilitarian aspect of gear and plugs assisting you to complete a recording task and there are also the collateral aspects of new gear/plugs, that they motivate you to try something different or in exploring their features, workflow and/or sound you learn something or get inspired and start something new? We have so much buying opportunity, itโs silly and we all have things that we donโt use so much, but did. I enjoy demos but try to be pretty ruthless before I buy asking what is really new here and adding lasting value. If that isnโt clear, I donโt buy, well except for beer and coffee: good to be flexible while recording I guess?
