They sound fantastic. I tried to take another picture of all the kits, however it keeps telling me the file is too big. Strange because it’s the same size as the last pic I took? Since installing SD3 on my sound files drive I had to take all my sdx expansions off of it to fit SD3. I need a bigger ssd for my sound drive for my VI’s. Currently researching ssd drives. I need upwards of 2 TB. I need another solution for my VI’s. The SSD’s get very expensive as you get to 2TB and up. I would like to do a comparison between these and the new Bob Rock SDX. I need more SSD space though, so my SDX buying is on hold. So, the Platinum stuff is actual samples or just midi grooves? The Joe Barresi Evil Drums are compatible with Toontracks and works as an SDX Pack with the samples. The Jim Scott and Andy John packs are only compatible with BFD. I was hoping one day Platinum Samples would’ve converted these to SDX to use in SD3, but it doesn’t look like it. If I had more room on my drive I would install it and see if there are grooves, but I cannot remember if grooves come with the kits. I do however recommend the Joe Barresi Evil Drums Pack. They sound really good.

You tried the spring in Realverb Pro in UAD? Also, I love the Audiothing RE201...you can use just that spring too. The Realverb is really nice.

Run it through your kemper with an ampeg profile? I thought you got another kemper? Maybe? I use a Burl B1d preamp into any choice of compression and it’s fine. The bass does make a big difference in tone, but we all know that. An amp and DI Combination is the best way to go. I would pick up a small bass combo amp and re-amp with your kemper. I actually used the ampeg UAD plugin with great results.

oh also I'll have the Dangerous AD+ here to compare on weds. can it be that much better than this?I'm staying open minded. but I already like the fact that that the Hedd is full AD/DA in a single rackspace. and a green light..pretty! Cant wait to hear your thoughts...

Garth is cheesey. Lots of his songs have been pretty amazing. The man is a genius at marketing himself and I would be willing to bet he's probably the wealthiest artist to date. If you go back and listen to those songs, I mean at that time NO ONE was coming up with stuff like that, and the way he performed both in the studio and live made them even more valuable. Garth is Cheesy because he chooses to be and knows what's made him rich, but he's a true artist, the man can sell out a show in 10 mins or less.... and chooses not to allow any of his own catalog to be streamed. He's a nice guy at that. I got nothing against Garth, but I think I was more into his wife’s cooking show...lol

When I run signal through my VCA buss on my analog console it adds some nice beef to the signal. Not sure why, but it sounds better!

I agree, and yes A/AB, but I never liked D. It’s clean, lifeless, clinical, just a few buzz words. Anyway, I do want an amp that’s not bright, but mostly flat in its frequency response.
I’m interested to find out more about the Hypex amps/cards. I don’t know much about them, however PMC is using them now in their active designs.

Trying to track down a DS-001, guess they don’t exist anymore. According to a PMC Rep I just spoke with, PMC used Bryston amps, but modded them to work with their drivers. The drivers are very high bandwidth and require an amp that is not slow and bright. Now they use Hypex. The plot thickens...some of the buzz words describing a suitable amp are:
Class D Fast Transient 200 watt rms(150 LF - 50 HF Drivers) Very low distortion Maybe even a high shelf attenuator(shelf 4K and up) to soften the hi frequencies built into the amp design
These are also bi-ampable. That’s about all I got...and that’s something to chew on!

According to PMC the TB2+ is 90 dB 1w/1m, so in near field 50 Watts is probably more than enough power. stage accompany has a great SPL calculator on their site if you know your speakers efficientcy. A Adcom GFA 535 or 545 series 1 modded by Jim Williams will kick ass. The Emotiv is nice but some have had QC issues, a used Bryson 2b or 3b is a common paring with PMC. Theirs a little nuForce switcher that is one of the Audiophile Darlings, and Some little DIY amp that Stereophile has been Ravi g about. Other than the JW modded Adcom, the little 25 stereo tube Ultra valve by Audio By Van Alstine has been the favorite here as of late. Thanks Ericn, I had a feeling you couldn’t resist the temptation! Lol, thanks.

I use an Emotiva XPA-200 with some older TB1's. Don't really know a whole lot about different amps though. Thanks, not many people use PMC?

What amp would you recommend for the TB2S+ monitors? RMS power recommendation? Jcouto1...I saw a pic of your PMC’s in your home setup you posted, which model are those? I don’t see any models with an offset tweeter except for the Two Two series, and the cabinets look like the TB2S+’s?

Dude, you can’t have everything!!! Well, maybe if they changed the name to Behringer you can!!! Everything or maybe anything, a couple very tricky words. I wonder if you can request what transformer you want in these, or maybe just install your own? Dammit I said it!! Son of a B!

Interesting, as there is also an led input meter that stretches around the input gain knob and an output meter that stretches around the output gain knob. The powersupply? There are solid powersupplies in their Midas desks.
Not sure how accurate this is, but the preamp is derived from the PRO2 and the EQ from the Heritage 3000 desk...maybe? Not sure? Very interesting...Transformer engage button? They even have phantom power on the preamp!!! Lol! Holy smokes!!! That pre is loaded!
Ericn - Your XL4 filters are on the preamp, so you have to get the preamp, and Beh...Midas did that just for you!
