On his 76A Compressor page, Chris wrote: "***NEW PRICE STARTING JUNE 1st = $799 !! ... We want to be as fair as possible to everyone that has been waiting to purchase a 76A, so we’re offering you ample time to get this AMAZINGLY faithful recreation of the famous “REV A”, built to the stringent standards of a bygone era! "
I'd love to get in on this, but if the 76A is out of stock, what are the options? Is there a way to pre-order for the next batch? Or will it be in stock by June 1st? If not, what does "ample time" mean?

I did and he's already replied. Holy cow! What was the reply? I checked with Chris, and he says it's OK if I relay that "We’re hoping to have more stock by the end of the week." I had a Serpent Splice MkII previously, and I'm hoping the 76A will be of similar quality, though without all the extra features I wasn't using anyway.

Here I am again! A good pal of mine owned the Serpent, and we both loved it. But then I got a 76A, we put them side by side for about a week and long story short, he ended up selling the Splice and buying a pair of 76A's. Again, he didn't use all of the extra "features" on it and just wanted a straight up, great sounding 1176 compressor. The 76A fills this role nicely ;-)
I didn't even notice it, but that's very cool of AS to give everyone time to buy a 76A at the "old" price... which is ridiculous, to begin with (as in, too low for the thing you're actually getting, IMO). I'm hoping the slight increase will help them actually make some money back on these things and fuel further new products... =D
Also, consider that people are selling prebuilt, brand new Hairball units for $1,000 and up on the 'bay and Reverb. Nuts I tell ya. My Hairball Bluey was great, but my AS 76A just has that "thing" about it that is so hard to put into words.
My two cents as someone who has owned tons of gear and owns most of the AS stuff.....

Seriously. You. Are. All. AWESOME.
76A's should hopefully be back in stock by the end of NEXT week! Waiting on cases and we're good to go.
Seriously, thanks to everyone for all of the kind words. We're happy the AS name is catching on and engineers can finally grab some gear that is build to a standard that WE would want to use ourselves. Without breaking the bank. Period.
P.S. - We may extend the old price a BIT longer than June 1st, perhaps a week or two, depending upon the amount of units we're able to build. As mentioned, we want everyone who has been patiently WAITING for a 76A, to have the opportunity to get one at the "old price".

Folks who put up pics of their gear on the internet are inviting thieves. There only so much a pitt bull, alarm system and a shotgun can stop. But just for you I checked and added carefully....it's right at 200RU, and there are only a couple of blanks in the racks. I'd call em full. I'm not one to overflow the room. I like it neat and acoustically uncluttered. Need a different solution to my addiction....
