I have found DI differences are very style/bass dependent.

Okay while we are talking about DI’s i noticed no one mentioned the Manley Tube Direct DI. Has anyone used that one? I think i have used just about every DI out there except that one. I do like the ZOD Di Id but i think i want to try out the Manley as well.

I’ve been on kind of a bass kick lately trying to get better bass sounds (when I am hacking it). I just have a Squire Classic Vibe P Bass...but it’s apparently kind of a sought after one. It’s the fiesta red one that looks like Pino’s. Anyway, changed the pickups - went through Quarter Pounders, but eventually ended up with the Fender 62 P Bass pickups which sound great. Then got a threaded bridge...all sounded really good. It then I picked up the RNDI and wow. There’s the punch and definition...no farting in the bottom end. I do think it’s a sum of all the improvements, but damn, didn’t know the DI through another pre would be that big a step up. Its nice but kinda overpriced for what it do imo

For sure, I get your point, I just thought the RND was a very noticeable step up from the Radial DI (still have mine as well) so I wondered if there was yet another DI to check out.

The Pueblo is close to $500. REDDI is ^$600. Zod is what - $450? I was surprised it was as cheap as it was.

I'm sorry to say this (general comment, not directed at anyone) but I think person has to be a fool to spend 500-600 on a Di alone. It will never be 5x6 times better, just different. Law of diminishing returns

Really I had some comparison online. didn't hear night or day difffernce. There is a company called cable factory Di from Canada who make di's with Lundahl but never heard it in person.

I used to think the same thing until I started using my Wolfbox "Motown" DI boxes.
They make a HUGE difference and I love them so much I haven't even used my Vox AC30HW or Marshall half stack in a few months now.
It's all DI for me at the moment. Using amp sims and such. The DI makes everything sound toneful on the front end, along with a good mic pre.

okay there is a difference between cheap sub $100 di’s and $300 plus di’s as i own them. I have the Zod i have the radial’s, countryman 85, Demeter, RND, the TLA, tele funken, whirlwind, palmer, a,peg, sadowsky, eden, and a few others if i went and had look at which boxes they sit in, but i have not used the Manley tube di. Has anyone used this one? I guess i am going to have to buy one and find out and report back.

Zod rules. I don’t really think about DI’s anymore....Except for maybe a second Zod.

I'm curious how many DI's most people would use at any one time. Was thinking about this earlier today.
I have quite a few, maybe 8 or so, but I'm sort of wondering what situation would come where I would need that many. Even though I want to stock up for some reason. Just for options maybe?
