I've attached a screen shot here of the post you asked about Kcat, from Josh on the Stam Audio FB page. It says new web site, newsletter and more info coming soon in May.
I just had my 1073EQ's arrive and tried them briefly yesterday. I'm glad I ordered a pair, they sound great!

Ya, I thought a few months ago that we were hearing good things but that the rubber had to hit the road over the late winter spring. Having an accurate and update schedule with more realistic dates will reduce noise and frustration a lot: let them focus on the real value add: the gear !

I saw this too. I hope this is a turning point for them.

I wish Josh and company luck, and I hope they can turn around in stock units and shorten wait times. I just might order something from them if I don’t have to wait a year and a half. Not being a jerk, just being honest.

Josh seems to be on track to clear the original backlog over the next few months. If they then really crunch the numbers hard in their production forecasts and give it to people straight: like under promise and over deliver that would be great. It seems bringing new product on line has been normally close to at least 12 months on average : kinda making that up anecdotally but the labour has also been spread thin playing catch-up? If they told people a year and delivered in 9 months: people would be singing their praises !

Well, remember they hired a new staff member recently with these specific responsibilities amongst others, so let's give the new guy a chance, we've all been there.

I wish him the best. I was pleased to hear a specific call out to NOT adding new products for a while.
I have the SA-4000 mk-1 (9 months) and the SA-47(9 months with extra messin’ around communication) so while I am happy with both I decided to only purchase existing stock from now on.
I was about to pull the trigger on some Stam pres I saw in an EU retailer that had 2 Carnhill 1073’s but at the last minute saw a UA 4110 on Reverb and went for that as they are even rarer than in stock Stam units :-D

To all the positive comments and vibes I wanted to thank you on behalf and me and the team
Being a one man show to becoming a 30+ company in 3 years has many challenges and we are heading in the right direction
We are looking forward to serving you better

Josh, even those like me who have been a little critical really just want you to succeed and wish you luck. I can’t wait to see what Stam Audio grows to become.

That points out another side that's been confused by the Stam way of doing business. If I order something that the site says is in stock, is it really in stock? Like, it'll ship in a few days max?

Well let’s see how things unfold as Stam has told us that currently he is focussed on clearing the backlog then working on new releases and orders? It seems to me things are still a work in progress and will keep improving over the next 3-6 months as the business transitions ?

That isn’t just a Stam issue and why I have always contacted any seller to make sure an item is in stock. In 2019 you would think inventory systems and E commerce systems would be tied together and constantly updated, sadly few are. Add in issues with order approval and allocation, it’s not in stock unless it’s in shipping ready to go out the door to you.

Right, but I was asking the question specifically of Stam: when it says "In Stock" on their site, is it really in stock? My point is that after going through the SA4000 ordering experience last year and then keeping up with all the dialogue around how they run the business, I'm left with zero trust of what "In Stock" means on their site.

I'm sure we've all had an experience with a dealer who tells you something is in stock on the phone, takes your CC, and then a week later you get a backorder notice.

A good gearpimp should call and let you know right away! The other thing do remember in most places it’s not allocated to you till the salesperson puts your name on it in his computer, I remember looking at inventory and by the time I got the order screen open 10 pieces of some expensive piece are gone!

Or maybe. But past experience with people who have bought "in stock" pieces with stam show that it still takes "quite awhile". That's pushed me away from pulling the trigger in the past. I guess in stock means different things to different people.
