If anyone is local to the Boston Area, or New England in general, here at Parsons Audio -- we have a V13 available for demo. It is very much worth trying out for yourself!

I would take Vanguard up on their demo program but then I would end up buying it.

Someone posted a shootout on the “other” gear forum and the v13 caught my ear. All the clips I’ve heard of it and the V1s sound great. I’m gonna have to try one out eventually. I’ve got a nice NOS 6072a just laying around looking for a home too. I've had a V13 for about a year. Happy to do a quick vocal demo with the stock tube, a NOS 6072a, and even a NOS Mullard I recently acquired (just because I have it) if anyone would find it helpful.

Gave your post a like, but it's bittersweet. A sad reflection of the "Music Industry" (oxymoron intended) is that really talented guys like him, aren't involved with recording/producing artists/bands so much-or at all anymore. In that sense, RGO is one of the very last "Oasis's" to gather around. Chris

In a sense, RGO is one of the very last "Oasis's" to gather around. Chri s As a friend and colleague of Fletcher, I can tell you that was his decision. The guy has been doing that for a LOOONG time. There was a time at Mercenary where all he wanted to do was sit in the Meth Lab and make rekehds, write application notes and riff the day away with his penchant for stirring the pot -- but even that was long in the tooth after a while.
I totally agree, the "Bidness of making rekehds" isn't even remotely the same thing anymore, from when Fletcher was moving mics. But, time marches on. When I got to Mercenary as an intern, he told me the computer keyboard was only supposed to be used for Porn and Email.
