Little labs stuff is great. Their preamp is super under rated. Maybe, and their web-site design isn't doing them any favors either. Links that don't work ..no mention of new product.. etc.

Very interested in this! Did you see which mics they modeled? He modeled a U47, 251, C12, M49, and a U67 I think. The ELA M 251 and U47 modeled are literally considered to be two of the best examples of those microphones in the world. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if it will improve the overall sound of the system. We’ll see. Each new set of emulations has been better than the last. Am I understanding this correctly? These are emulations of mics that are models of other mics?

How about the upcoming "complete" studio series, from Behringer? In the new "Inspiration" series, you can get... Benelec Monitors. Bro Tools recording software. BAPI Pre. Baudient interface. BAM U87 Broma I'm sure there's more on the way, like a Bultec! Chris I’m still waiting for the BSE, it might kill Kalisz.

The kidding aside of my last post...
IMHO Slate's VMS will keep getting closer and closer to the "real thing".
But... I expect to still prefer "hardware" microphones, for critical recording. Chris

It's still "Modeled". It'll get closer but long ways away from really duplicating ("cloning")the real thing. Too many variables involved in a real mic.
For tracking I still think we need a REAL mic & pre. For mixing, I'm totally open to in the box.
Isn't that 251 is the one they did the Upton shootout with?

Adding to all the new compressor options: TK Audio announces the new BC1-THD Bus Compressor, updating their take on the SSL Bus Comp with new Grab option, an overdrive THD button, and three switchable high-pass filter options for the sidechain.
$1400

New cheaper range of smaller acoustic guitars from Ed Sheeran and Lowden: sheeranguitars.com/Anything that gets young people playing acoustic is great in my book.

Is there any place besides this thread where we can get all the NAMM new releases that interest us? I mean, there is some NAMM coverage in many sites, but the smaller/boutique/indie stuff goes unnoticed. I love how Premier Guitar does in-depth coverage of guitar stuff, I wish there was something similar for studio gear. Or maybe there is?

New one supposed to have "master grade" converters. The da on the monitor outs is 136dB of dynamic range apparently. Maybe I'll be able to get a better price now on the v2 one haha

Sigh....will the advances ever stop? Haha! According to SS, the plugins and products are ground breaking, game changing, and the best they can possibly be. Every January....

Steven Slate is special... I think it would be fun to meet him in real life I had lunch with him years ago, when VCC was just launching. Really nice guy who genuinely believes in his products/direction. His marketing is a little over the top sometimes , but my impression was that he’s just the type of guy who lets his excitement get the better of him.

I really wish it wasn't called NAMM. Every time I say or write it, I hear it in Rocky Balboa's voice, with a Paul Hardcastle soundtrack...

Another stereo compressor that has caught my attention this year is the Highland Dynamics BG1 Limited reissue. $3500 doesn’t sound bad considering a mono BG2 is like $2800. I’ve been eyeing the retro revolver all year but this has just bumped it down a notch. This year I’ve compiled a great rack of Altec gear. The preamps, eqs and compressors. Even the mics and 612s. But I haven’t found a suitable Altec stereo bus compressor to hit prior to tape. This BG has got me thinking it’s the one.
