Reviving this old thread (and first post here!). I have a pair of original doublewides, but I'm considering upgrading to the Doublewide II's for stereo operation. Does anyone here run these in stereo? I'm curious about the linking, but can't find any info and Retro hasn't responded. I'm wondering if there's any way to use these in an API 500-6B? I've read that there are pre-soldered jumpers for linking, but I'm not sure if that would work in this case? Welcome...you can change the avatar, I just couldn't help myself lol. Why wouldn't it work? Also - wonder what happened to Jerome Mason?

Last I checked his site was still up and he seemed open for business.

He seemed to fairly suddenly disappear a few years back. Last I checked his site was still up and he seemed open for business. I know he was tight with a dude that was a member here for several years…but now that dude hates me because I re-sold a mic I bought from his friend. (And offered half the profit to his friend…and said friend was like hell no and turned it down…and said he was at a loss as to why he got so pissed off. Yes, it was that insane. But I guess that’s not out of character for an insane person.

But I guess that’s not out of character for an insane person. Wait, was it a KM-84? I have some vague recollection about this... Yes. He called me. Said a friend was selling a km84 for $900 (like 10 years ago). I asked what the condition was and he said something like it had wear and tear but “I’m sitting here playing through it and it sounds amazing…but I have three other people interested and you need to buy it or my guy needs to move on.” So I bought it sight unseen. I get to this dude’s house and it looks like it was stored in Satan’s ass for a century. Gouges in the brass body, no badge, nickel missing on 50%, small tear in the mesh…honestly, I was kind of pissed…but I’m gonna cause a scene (with this nut) and demand my money back in his kitchen? I got it home - and it did sound great as they all do. But considering it looked like a robot turd, I decided I wanted to find a better specimen. So I put it up for sale. I think I listed it for like $1100 - they were probably going for like $1200 at the time. I get this message on Facebook - Holee Shiite. This dude called me every name under the sun. I’m a piece of shit and he will never be seen on my shitty site again. Even though I had ZERO obligation, I called the guy that I actually bought it from and told him I’d split any profit with him…and he said no. So that’s why this guy - who was an active member - hasn’t been back since like 2016.

Now I'm tempted to change my user name to "Carhartt"...just to see the avatar you'd give me.

Very confused by all of these responses, but perfectly happy with the avatar, lol.
To clarify, I was asking if the stereo link would work in the API 500-6B?. It has no physical link switch, but as I mentioned in my first post, I've read that jumpers are pre-soldered in the rack. I have no idea if there's any truth to that, however.

In Satan’s ass for a century…I lost my shit and spit my coffee out on my desk and all over my gear! Lol I talked to Jerome for a bit here and there, seemed like a nice guy, but yeah…he just kind of disappeared.

This is a good question - I don't know the answer personally, though. Never used that rack.

Yeah sorry for the tangent...wish I could help, but I have no idea. Email Phil Moore and ask: phil@retroinstruments.com
