I would never accuse you of being a delusional Millenial! LOL (that's a joke in case anyone reading this has no sense of humor) Get on the bandwagon! Or build one.

FYI - The Weight Tank 72 has been updated to a version two. The gist I got was that there's some kind of magic happening that mutes your signal in a matter of micro-seconds while you are changing gain levels. It automatically un-mutes once you stop turning the knob. This allows for less overall noise and annoying pops in your monitors. There may be other updates, but I didn't retain those. I gather the overall vibe remains true to the first effort.

That's amazing - wonder if Weight Tank can modify my V72's to mute between gain because those clicks are the most annoying thing about them?

No clicks.

No clicks. Interesting, yes my pair are stepped and there is a slight pop on each click. They are mounted by Marquette Audio Labs and have been checked out and I've been told they are "supposed" to do that but it's something I'd love to get rid of. Maybe I'll ask weight tank about their muting scheme or possibly look in to having a smooth pot put in - never thought about that. thanks

I was keeping a tab on the WT-72, especially seeing good praise on these for vocals. Looks like it is time to get one now! Also, the website has a WT-72 revision history link, that says revision A had continuously variable input potentiometer, B having 11 position stepped gain, and C having relays for input attenuation.

I decided to order one, although the price isn't as compelling as the original $500 which I should have gotten then. It'll be nice to have a tube preamp around.

It's still a good price, but who likes spending money? I've read enough reaction on this that I'm confident it'll perform well for me.

All the GAS (that's a common term/acronym, right?) you guys are giving me is making it really hard to save up for more essential upgrades.

Haha! Even at current pricing, these are a bargain, and super great pre's. Glad to have a pair. They see a lot of use here.

i had a conversation with Eric yesterday and absolutely love where he's going with this. Instead of just input gain attenuation, the single knob runs the gamut from input attenuation to AC/DC feedback to induce additional gain. Simplicity and great tone from your mics! And like the audioscape 1108, a USEFUL nice break from the Neve and API topologies and sound.

I ordered a pair for some reason, swayed by the pure genius of the kit (I expect, just a spidey-sense of it). One for vocals, 2pair for stereo DI. Will try a cassettes tape transfer, just some old cassette rehearsal tapes that need love. Well, I'll check that. A pair for room but will need a room mic/s. I just got a Sonic Farm Berliner so will be interesting to compare. I expect them to be wildly different. Both use NOS Russian EF86 equivelents I think. I recently bought an infrared temperature probe so I'l shoot 'em both and see how roasty the fire bottles get. lol

I saw one recently up to Version C. I think I have an original model. Just wondering what changes have been made and what am I missing out on? Thanks
