I'm looking forward to the reveal/reaction.. Me too! I appreciate everyone not mentioning the name of the winner until he sees it for himself.

Gee, I wonder if they'll trade it for my mint MXL V69 Toob microphone-straight up! In the spirit of the Holidays, of course. I could even throw in my Alesis Nanocompressor, just to sweeten the deal. Chris Better yet, write them a custom song with their name in it.

Well, how about a slogan for Matt & Company...?
(best Dennis Hopper voice) "A wiser man chooses a Heiserman"
Shoot, that's not only "not politically correct" nowadays, it sounds like a beer ad.
Maybe that's why I like it!. (Cueing "In Dreams"/"Blue Velvet") Chris

Ah- ah- ah..... My jaw dropped when I saw that. Coise you, I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight!
The only other drawing I've ever won was an AES drawing for an SSL Duende, which I never got running due to driver issues until they made it obsolete with the software version.
No damn drivers with a microphone - I am SOOO jazzed. I've been a mic freak for 40 or 50 years. I can't wait to try this out on kick and bass guitar, both of which I'me been using RE20s and AKG D12s on.
I am SOOO looking forward to this!
Don't forget, my preference is black, altough I wouldn't turn up ay nose at another color. (My clothes are black, my cowboy hat is black, my boots are black, my Prius is black...) (Prius, WTF? )
Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!

To all my friends who didn't win, my truly sincere condolences. I wish you all the luck in the future (unless they do a drawing for a tube 47, in which case all bets are off!)

Congrats, John. Super cool.
You do realize that you inherently owe the RGO community some clips, right???

Congrats, John. Super cool. You do realize that you inherently owe the RGO community some clips, right??? Well, I'm not much of a one for clips, but I'll try to do some comparisons with my Pearlman TM-1s, which are a general tube 47 family mic and also in the same general price range. Also comparisons with the RE-20 and maybe D12.
Frankly, my drum kit ain't that great, maybe I'll ask my drummer to bring a better kick if possible, no promises. My bass amp is a B-18, so that should be OK.

Maybe 20 years ago.... but probably not. I'm pretty conservative when it comes to the looks of microphones. Grey, black, brown, chrome if the mic is old enough. The mic shouldn't call attention to itself visually. That's not its job.
Anyway that's more blue ones for other people!

Be sure to cut a "Man in Black" Johnny Cash song on it-even if it's just one piece at a time! Chris

So cool that you won what is no doubt a great mic, John. I look forward to the next model announced. Love the fact that the bodies are really gutsy and not cheap metal. For any new release may I suggest you guys keep that quality of the body and also make sure any shock mounts actually grasp the mic with a threaded ring a la Neumann / Gefell etc so the mic can be operated upside down with confidence. The fact that many knock offs use crap bodies and shock mounts that are hard to use as well as unreliable is an Achilles heel IMO. Haven't used the Heisermann mic but my experience with their Stam sa87 cap and the apparent body metal qualty leads me to speculate that short of the real thing I'd be surprised if anyone does it better. Cheers, Ross

Cheers, Ross Thanks for the vote of confidence! We do feel like our mic compares favorably to virtually anything on the market both from a sound and build quality perspective. Making everything in the US gives us a level of oversight and quality control that you don't get with most mic companies. Regarding the shock mounts, our H47 Tube will be a clamp style, much like the original U47 and the current Telefunken. It's a tried and true design for this mic, so I wouldn't have any hesitation operating the mic upside down.
