Greetings.
Has anyone any experience with the Grace m108? If so, what were your findings?
TIA, -09

Not a lot of hands on experience. But a few friends with them. Solid solid units. Basically an m802 but smaller and is an interface. Great preamps and converters.

I have two of these now. They are amazing. Super life like beautiful clear quality. They are a pretty big improvement of the m802. Would recommend!

I forget his name but one of the engineers that recorded the later Motorhead albums had an 8 banger Grace preamp. Something from a Warren Huart video. He said "use it for anything," as if it's not some classical jazz preamp, just a great front end for any type of music.
I thought that was pretty interesting, but I've never heard a Grace in person.

The Grace gear only gets praise from those that have them. And the reason that most don't have them is because of GS. If it's not Neve or the colorless flavor of the month, no one buys them. Grace Design is altogether as good if not better than anything on the market. Be not afraid.
I've owned some high end "colorless" gear. Grace is by far the best IMO.

I've had great experience with the grace preamps too.

Also my favorite super-hifi sounding preamp!

Grace is clean with just enough personality to not get in the way.

Maybe for the work most people do. But they are a huge staple in the classical word. There are really 4 choices right now. Grace, Merging, DAD, and Millennium. Those are the big guns in the classical world. That said, they are amazing and I'd use them anywhere. Beautiful honest preamps. And the m108s are a big step up from the older m802/m801 pre amps. And the converters are stellar.

Thanks, cowboycoalminer and Blackdawg. I've been using Millennia pres for probably 15 years and love those. Obviously I'm in the pristine/no-color pre camp. Also a fan of Syteks; I had two, but am only using one. (That second unused one is currently in the classifieds forum.) I'm setting up a B room and need some pure channels and converters. The m108 fills that need so perfectly on paper, and from what I've read and classical Grace recordings I've heard, I'm sure I'll be happy. And I never put much stock in GS opinions; aside from an occasional detour into the "Remote" forum. It seems GS is all about gear that sounds dull and muddy. Oops! I mean "gear with vintage warmth." Yeah. That's what I meant. <looks around nervously> Thanks for sharing your experiences; I appreciate it! -09

We use the AES outputs to our Protools main rig and we have the HDX card option for our portable rig. I've also used them as a USB interface as well. Beautiful sounding stuff.
