The results for the guitar and particularly the drums in this video make me wonder about the SA-47F. If it has that kind of beefy low end, for $600 it could be a nice instrument Mic to have around. Maybe throw it on kick. Anyone one here have one? It is probably the best mic for bass cab and kick drum. It has a lot of low end Not a good choice for acoustic guitars I imagine it would be great for both pizzicato and arco upright bass..

Another shootout video featuring the Stam SA-47 The Peluso was my least favorite. The Neumann was my favorite. The Stam was actually quite interesting! To me, it got a little piercing at times, whereas the Neumann tamped down the stridency in the vocalist. But still, a really nice capture overall. Would love to have had a FleA in there for comparison.

Just to close the loop (14 months later! sorry ) on this thread. I completely forgot and I hate when forums have abandoned threads.
The mic arrived in December 2018 and has been in regular use ever since on vocals, mono front of kit, kick out and electric bass cab. I also got to use it on Cello and Double bass. It has worked great on all of those.
With one very sibilant vocalist I work regularly with who has a lot of weird resonances in her voice, there was too much detail and a lot of soothe was required but to be honest I have issues with her on any mic. The best so far as Violet Amethyst Vintage (from a fair distance) or a Cascade Fathead II also from a distance. She prefers the detail of the Stam in her headphones so I now put up two mics and feed her the Stam in her mix but generally use the other mic. Anyway, I digress.
Overall very very happy with the mic but I have resolved to just buy retail stock where I see it as the waiting times don't really work for my situation. Just spotted an SA-87 in stock on an EU retailer I use a lot .. very tempted!

Never heard the Flea in person.... But my SA-47 is special. Up there as a top mic in my arsenal, and I’ve tried just about all of the sub 2k$ mics out there.

Javamod,I have the Heisermann / Sowter option and would not swap it for a U87 as it doesn't bite although mine has less bottom end than I might have expected (not really an issue though). You'll love it; it's a great studio work horse only let down by the generic shock mount which makes it dicey to hang the mic upside down. Cheers, Ross

Here is a video I did 2 months ago on the SA-47
I think I have never seen one for sale anywhere and I have made over 1.000 of these, many consider it their favorite microphone which is a great great honor to me although I am sure other replicas sound amazing as well. I dedicated many years to listening carefully and matching each part to get it to sound identical to my ears.
I hope you guys like it. I will post a video comparison with the U47 on this video when I get the chance, life is quite crazy right now working 7 days a week to get as many orders out as possible.
Stay safe guys!!
