Order placed for two. This place sucks... my bank account dry The IRS did that to mine and I’m not finding some anti tax forum, I have enough troubles flying: missing fingers and obvious burns are a red flag to the TSA, a good friend threw a snowball at George HW Bush, and a good friend from high school is the anarchists with a Supreme Court descion named after him! You think I ever get on a plane without my bags being searched😎

How do I know if the first 100 units were already sold? Is the $200 discount still available?

Hi,
I just ordered two with sowters and line inputs so this gives me an excuse to finally post here. Was checking out the other new 1073 options but this looks superior so decided to give it a shot with the 200 preorder discount. Thanks for all the insights everyone concerning this and on many other things.I look forward to not being a lurker anymore.

I also ordered a stereo pair. I'm very excited to try them as I love the SA2A and have been trying out several 1073 preamps in this price range.
I have a question, though, that maybe someone more familiar with 1073s can answer. On the units I have, you can use all gain settings with the Line, Mic, or DI input, but there is a Line switch. Here there are Line settings on the right and Mic settings on the left and the DI goes through the Line In Transformer. There's no line selector switch as far as I can see. Does that mean you can't use the Mic gain settings with the DI because that input is only active on the Line gain selections? If so, the max of 20db is a bit low for my passive basses (I usually use around 30-40db).

Line says -20 to +10, so that'd be 30 db - I don't think I've ever had problems with too little signal from a bass

The way the gain is marked on a Neve is based on what signal strength it expects to see at the input in order to achieve 0db. So +10 db is intended for a strong line signal at +10 on the input to come out as 0db (therefore it drops the signal strength). That means the max gain is still +20db on the -20db setting. As I said, I typically use more in the 30-40 range for instrument level from guitars and basses. Sometimes that is to intentionally add distortion and compression in the preamp. If it is maxing out at 20db, I could also use two units in series, I suppose.

Maybe there's a selection switch on the back

Well, This was the Hot offering a month ago, however it's been overshadowed by the latest DAG offering. What with everyone worried about weather they're in the July or Sept. Batch and if they got a conformation. Got me thinking I haven't received any confirmation of anything concerning my deposit for 2 - 1073EQ. Has anybody received anything?

I sent the money a couple weeks back and still haven't received confirmation yet either on those two. I DID get confirmation on the two 67ADGs but that was it
