1567a-schematic.pdf (1.22 MB) I was looking at the wiring and schematic and noticed that the first 2 inputs use pins 4,5,6,7,8 on the octal transformer Inputs 3 and 4 add pin number 1 as well to the wiring. That is about as much as I can understand. Can anyone explain why the difference between inputs 1 and 2 vs 3 and 4? Also I use a Peerless 4665 transformer on input one instead of a 4722. Would there be any benefit using it with any other input? This question stems from the different wiring schemes of the octal plugs. I almost posted in the DIY forum but ended up here. Thanks

If anyone ever reads this and has the same question I have an answer.
Channels 3 and 4 use pin 1 to create a feedback path for use with a transformer to provide RIAA equalisation for magnetic type phonograph pickups.

I know this is an old post but did you have any issues using the 4665? Did you ground the body? Did you have you modify the octal config or just plug it in?
Thanks in advance

I just plugged it right in and didn't need a ground wire. The 4665 is odd shaped and I think I had to remove the metal tube cover next to it. I ended up selling both the 1567a and the 4665 after the prices were at least triple what I paid for everything.
