Getting a worldwide hit is a hell of a lot easier today than ever before! The next generation of popular venues will probably be created by people in their twenties exactly like the last generation was and it will probably start in livingrooms.

The next generation of popular venues will probably be created by people in their twenties exactly like the last generation was and it will probably start in livingrooms. I mean now days its Youtube. Everyone I know has a few new artists they know of via their youtube channel. Hell I've gone to friends and we just swap control over the youtube player to play stuff for each other.

And get paid absolutely nothing for it. Absolutely? Not quite. Although I'm reminded of when there was a currency denomination called the "mil", which was 1/1000th of a dollar, used for fractional accounting of property taxes. Back when you could still buy penny candy for a penny.

Certainly a lovely way to see & hear an artist stripped and up close. But no real way to make money for anyone involved. This is already happening on a regular basis but every band wants to graduate to bigger & bigger rooms and acclaim.
