Today is a mix of cleaning, editing and mixing. Tomorrow I'll take a photo of my home set up and my portable recording rig. Promise.

Nice rack. I'm struggling to keep my rack gear within reach of my mix position, but there seems to be no real way to do it with a console on the table.

Here's the studio's web page (in English): www.estudiobrazil.comIf you guys have facebook, there are quite a few pictures from recent sessions: Facebook photo albumsPractically all sessions are recorded with the band playing live, either all together in the live room, or separating drums from amps.

I just love posting photos so someone can post one after mine that looks like it belongs to Hans Zimmer The reloading bench is built into an old player piano, it's a nice hunk of wood!

The Opium Den Productions... I'd never get away with that one around here... Seriously, very cool place there. I need to get some photos up. I recently did a bit of a makeover and moved to another space.

Guess I'll play... Here is a pic of the only side of my room not in utter chaos at the moment. I'll post up a few more once things are neat and tidy although I have a lot less audio related outboard than I used to. Anyway... gratuitous modular synth photo.

I'm not a synth guy, but I've got a boner.

Heh. It makes really expensive fart noises. Eurorack modulars are very addictive. So many manufactures and great modules that multiply exponentially every week it seems. I started a year ago with a single case. Sold off most of my outboard to feed this habit.
Without blabbering on about it too much, the beauty of this is that you create something in the moment and either record it or let it go forever. Some of it is repeatable to a point but once you pull the cables it's back to a blank canvas.

Hey Bentley, obviously, I don't want to derail the thread, but I'd love to know more about your experiences with the eurorack modulars. Maybe a thread about that? I've always been a fan of analogue synths but never got past semimodular stuff. Actually, I feel like an exjunkie that is asking about afgan opium fields (or something)... Practically haven't been able to feed my synth habit since the studio opened...

hmmmmmmm, lots of synth fans around here. Before i started beeing interested in studio electronics, in the beginning there were the synths, then the expanders, then the racks, then the rack mixers, effects...well...and so on and on.......... kind of natural development of interests.....
