I've ordered one of these: mothsound.infoThey are local to me (Spain) and the Standard model seems to do what I was hoping the Copperphone to do. I'll report when I get the mic! These look great. And, being from Spain, us Europeans wouldn't have to pay import tax. How much are these, I couldn't find any price on their website...? |

Yes, you have to email to order, turnaround is about 1 week. The STD is 175 €.

STDs - yeah, the good old 70s... Back when they were predictable and easy to get rid of... now, God knows what you'll catch and how hard it will be to get rid of! Like a bad drum sound, recorded by chincy copper microphones that get by on their looks? |

Got the Moth Mic and it’s everything I hoped the Copperphone would be. It’s bandpassed and vintage-y but not peaky. I spoke with the guy that makes them, he told me he gets vintage dynamic capsules from Austria.
It sounded really cool on vocals and on snare drum. Full drums too. Haven’t tried it on piano yet.
