The kid came out of the gate strong, but now everything he is putting out is like a bad cover band of 70s funk and 90s R&B. Maybe this is what happens when the record industry can no longer afford Producers and Management teams that are able to help guide a young artist's career.

He's just circling through the genres. I saw a video of him the other day dressed like will smith in a "parent's just don't understand" music video? It'd be a fun concert of different types of songs, like a variety show, but as singles i'm just seeing him rip off different styles to get the youtube viral laugh to top the charts. No different than these people doing covers on youtube of famous old songs in quirky new variations, or specialized instruments. It's pop, after all.

I am pretty sure he started his own thing. Look at the Grammy nomination list. What "own thing"? I've never been able to understand the hubbub surroundings Bruno Mars. He obviously has natural talent in spades. But natural taste or integrity? Not so much. And depth? Not at all..... |

Maybe he’s just having fun and doing what brings him joy?
I, for one, appreciate the concept of someone maybe bowing out of the race for market dominance.
Dude is sitting on piles of cash already...why bother?
