I'm absolutely not a traditional country nutbag...but a couple of things about this old standard struck me. A) it's entertaining - even after 70 years. B) his pitch is fantastic and performance reeks of years of experience. There's a confidence - an x-factor. Not trying to be cheesy, but as subdued as this is, there's a trust that is immediately evident that this guy has something hat we want to hear. It's interesting to me. I get it if it's something you can't stand, but you can't deny that it's something that is interesting.
