Can't wait to hear you gas inducing feedback 🤠 just messin tonight but so far sounds friggin great on everything I've put in front of it.this is NOT a modern hypey mic.its got a classic vibe.big sweet and smooth. natural up top not unlike like my c37a's but kinda big like a 47 at the same time.gonna handle sibilant singers like a champ. first thing threw it out in front of some drums.sounded like the kit in the room but bigger/ better. its gonna be a killer mono drum mic.unless I get another. SaveHey RB, what genres are you working in? You track and mix at your place? Any website / samples I can check out?

Using the redd amp in the mic or using the same pre just a different channel? What pre did you use? Does one channel of your pre sound better than the next ( asking to see if there are any other variables ) I know the Bock is known for having lots of low end so having the chandler beat it out on mono room mic is impressive... Man what a bad ass setup there sir

Man what a bad ass setup there sir Bock - Redd 47 Redd mic direct in. The bock is still great. It's just out in front of kit the Redd mic was a fuller more life like representation. I'll be doing a lot of comparisons w other mics(67,56's,c12a's c37a's)when time permits.

Hey Chase, JK is JK, - gear lusting, selling , lusting; it's his nature; you can't hold back your nature . This site is just a respectable cloak to superficially clothe that lust so to speak.
Having said that, when it comes to these mics ,I too am in thrall (but out of pocket) sight unseen, hearing unheard.
I reckon (guess) they'll be the duck's......
Cheers to you all in drooling, Ross

I've had some gear that was fantastic, but when something new came out that was better than what I had, selling at around the same price, I wouldn't hesitate to sell and buy the newer piece.
I just traded my lovely Aerodyne Fender Telecaster for a Les Paul Studio. My Tele was proven, had great results when recording, intonation was right, action was perfect, etc. The thing was, I decided I simply prefer maple necks to rosewood necks on Fenders, so when the opportunity to trade came along, I felt the Les Paul was just more guitar for the money, without me actually spending more money, except for a good setup and adjustment of the nut. I'll find another Tele with a maple neck at some point. I have a cheap Squire 51' I used for students that I can use if I just need some chords with a Fender sound.
My point is if I could only afford one really good mic, I wouldn't hesitate if something better cam along at the same price point. Good as the Upton may be, if the Chandler REDD works even better for you, why not get it?

I always lusted after a 251...so, I would have to be either hard up for money or getting out of the business to let the Upton go.

This came arrived from our Japanese distributor today, it's a live youtube concert of the duo FULLMOON, with Female VCL on the REDD Microphone. With the exception of the track at 36:36 which is the binaural mic, all are the REDD Microphone on her Vocal. The last video is of here speaking into the mic.
I'm, not sure what the settings the mic were for this. The mic is quite versatile, and dependent upon the interaction of controls.
