This thing has been going around Facebook, so I figured it would be fun here too. 10 albums you spun a ton when you were a teen. I specifically kept my list to contemporary records released around my teens, not the classic stuff I listened to. Feel free to laugh about KoRn, but the drumming on that record was nasty. Defining teen as in high school and in no particular order
Simon and Garfunkel: Sounds of Silence (perhaps the first album my parents let me buy - or maybe they bought it for me??)
Aerosmith: (Pick any of the first four albums - Sorry, I know it's cheating, but they all got worn till they skipped incessantly)
James Taylor: Greatest Hits
Elton John: Bitch is Back probably got the most spins of my EJ collection.
Loggins and Messina: Sittin' In
Santana: Borboletta (Bought it because the cover was so cool - I had no idea what fusion was but I couldn't stop playing it)
Steely Dan: Can't Buy a Thrill (or maybe Aja)
Cat Stevens: Tea for the Tillerman
Chicago: I dunno, maybe Chicago II - or maybe it was that ten album set.
Foghat: Fool for the City (I'm guessing the slide work blew my mind)

Reading some the above Rumours and Hotel Ca. should probably bump L@M and S@G. But Wait - There's moree ..Boz Skags, Wings, CSN&Y, Alice Cooper, Kansas, OMG - BOSTON! ..Jeeze Jesse - ONLY 10??? Come on ..they all belong on the list because they're all vinyl and I wore them all down to the quick. CD's hadn't been invented.

There was something very special about that album, Trevor Horn, Trevor Raven, Chris Squire, Those araingements! Sonics were not my cup of tea, but there was a definite aesthetic and wasn't a huge Trevor Horn production sound his ABC stuff was so much more dynamic. |

I had to cut my list at late 18 because going to music school and being formally introduced to jazz COMPLETELY changed what I listened to. I'm pretty sure not one of my records got a spin once I hit 19. Strangely enough, I didn't have a record player in college; it was all tapes, so I was in effect building my library from scratch. By the time I got out of college (and could afford to buy music), I think CDs were on the horizon, and I didn't want to get screwed in the format wars, so I pretty much laid low for a couple years with my tapes and as a result haven't purchased vinyl since high school ..in the late 70's.

and then I heard Led Zeppelin and everything changed; all else became past-tense as I devoured their entire catalog up to and including Presence. Their '77 show in Phoenix permanently altered my musical consciousness, and I'm still dealing with the aftershocks. Seismic music, every minute of it.
Isn't it beautiful that a song, or a band, can change lives? Maybe even save them? I can say without a doubt that music gave me a place to escape to when my young life got heavy. And besides, if you want to get laid, everyone knows that you should put on side one of Led Zeppelin Four
Honorable Mention: Hendrix - Hendrix In The West - His version of Johnny B. Goode is astounding
