Dudezzz... I got pinged by an assistant to a Music Supervisor here in L.A who is looking for songs to replace the temped in tracks they have in now. I'm passing this around to all my music buds and thought I'd post it here as well because I lurk this board all the time between sessions. If you have anything that may fit, feel free to PM me. What's below is all I know about it.
It is a period piece and they are looking for clearable songs from the 90s or in the style of 90's music. Budgets TBD by artist but definitely on lower end.
They are looking to replace the following songs below:
Green Day - “Welcome to Paradise” -
90s Punk Rock/Pop Punk. Driven.
Green Day - “Know Your Enemy” -
90s Punk Rock/Pop Punk. Big chorus.
Green Day - “Longview” -
90s Punk Rock/Pop Punk. Big chorus.
Bush - “Machinehead” -
Grunge. Rock. Nostalgic.
Naughty By Nature - “Opp” -
Golden Age Hip Hop. Old school.

So you essentially need 90's West-Coast punk on a shoestring budget? It won't be as poppy as they want it, but here's what cropped up in my head.
Song #1 Sub: Descendants - I Am The One
Song 2a: Bad Religion - Recipe For Hate
2b Screeching Weasel - Dingbat.
Song 3: (Kind of a toughy mood-wise, so I'm going offbeat) Minutemen - History Lesson Pt. II
3b Pavement - Grounded
4. Wow, Bush are so terrible it's almost criminal. I don't own any of this AiC knockoff/proto Nu-Metal stuff.
5. Jurassic 5 - Concrete Schoolyard

Hi Jazznoise, Nice picks, indeed. I'm not affiliated with the film's production, just someone who occasionally gets pinged on stuff like this when others are looking. I believe the music supervisor and his staff are looking for direct submissions from artists that can quickly clear the songs because it seems they're in post right now and on a tight schedule (for festival season). A buddy of mine with a successful label in NYC stepped up with some stuff so I think they may be all set. Thank you though for posting these tunes. It's a nice playlist for sure. I'm enjoying them immensely!
