Has anyone used one or own one? I found one for a steal, mint condition with all buttons switches working. The tech just did a thorough checking/testing and the owner confirmed it is probably the best sounding and best condition I will find. I have heard so many different opinions on this box, can anyone help me out that is in the know? I know it isn't a mid 80's 110, however 2 channels EQ with solid pre. I know they don't make them like this anymore.

View AttachmentNot a bad clean pre EQ, if that's what your looking for go for it, but I can't tell you how many times I have been told "Yeah we have some Classic Neve Pres" only to walk in and find focusrite! Personally not a huge fan, My favorite Focusrite box is the Green EQ with the stupid texture rubber on the face because they are the same EQ without the Transformer and can be had for much less!

Uncharacteristically, I find myself not in complete agreement with our friend, Eric,
This doesn't I personally LOVE the Focusrite Blue series and find the preamps to be in the Neve family and can be pushed into some nice grit. The EQs are not as surgical as some would like... but the upside of this is that you don't have too much phase shift going on when used in their extreme settings,
I would grab with confidence.

It'll never be the same. But we'll always have California. California oh California! I was talking about my dislike of the Blue series and I guess it comes down to a couple of more political things rather than sonics. The Blue in either U.K. Or China versions, don't have the weight or dimension of the real Modules in the console, sadly for me I heard real console modules before I heard the Blue series and well Damn it I foolishly expected that sound! The other thing was the Blue series was the first " Highend pieces" Sweetwater, GC and yes us at Fullcompass sold, and man we all pushed them on a lot of people who thought these boxes would magically make them sound like a record ! Honestly I can think of no Series of Highend Gear used on so many bad sounding recordings. Lastly and this has to do with the above the Focusrite and the sound of a Mackie 8 bus just didn't Gel!

I had a chance to talk more to the owner of this fine piece of blueness and we will see. I trust what the owner said. He has had a very successful business for a very long time. He has had it all and he said there are a couple reasons why the 215 stayed in his rack. He said this is one of the good ones. I cannot disclose those reasons, oh and I didn't take offense to anything stated in this thread. But you can go move to California and buy a Mackie, and be happy. Lol.

Update...these two channels were taken out of the Forte desk and put in a rack, and they are not weak sounding in the least.

Mmmm... Forte Gooiness. Since all my efforts are currently directed to joining the Radar V club! (I too have found a deal ) I shall gracefully cede any claim to these rare classics, of course tributes are always accepted, and shall generate good will!

I'd use my Focusrite Clarett money on some Forte channels. I am a dedicated focusrite fan, even if they aren't related by any real Neve-ness. Somehow I think the "steal" price is above my threshold anyway.

Patience is a virtue. 22 long years I have waited for the stars to align just right with the size of the moon to find a piece this lovely. Crossing it off my bucket list.
