40ish transistors per EQ module too. It was suggested elsewhere this is not the entire EQ circuit either. View AttachmentI almost bought a pair of the Eq's but there was to much unknown for the price . These consoles always grab my attention but I couldn't tell you why lol probably because of the recordings done on them but if you think about it most of those records would have been great recorded thru any console Also never heard anyone who owned one say anything bad about the sound of them just the heat factor a lot of them caught fire ]Well anyway seems to make good conversation

I don't know what a typical Flickinger PSU looks like, but the one Linkous had was a third party set of Lambda or similar and it filled a 6 foot rack.

I had read lots of great things about Flickinger over the years.i remember reading Steve Albini saying it was the best sounding console ever. I'd also dug the Sparklehorse stuff Mark did with it. Then heard from some folks in town about the new ones. Finally got a pair of the 500 series reissue Flickinger pre's here. Compared them to all the other suspects. Vintage Neve 1084's,old A Ranges and Passive Lustraphone Helios.Capi VP28's,Vintage API. old Electrodyne tube 201e's,T V76's and some new Chandler Redd47's. They sounded ok but nothing I heard compelled me to buy them.as far straight 500 series transistor currently made mic pre's go I thought the VP28's sounded bigger, had more "life" to them.

Maybe they didn't nail the original sound on the 500 series versions - wouldn't be the first time..

Sometimes the whole wedding cake looks (sounds) more exciting than just the piece you get on a plate.

Sometimes the whole wedding cake looks (sounds) more exciting than just the piece you get on a plate. Scientists have discovered the one food that destroys a woman's sex drive: Wedding cake.

I was engaged in one of my three serious relationships. Ring with sparkle. Shortest of them all - by far (one order of magnitude). I should have known this rule before, damn.

I was engaged 3 times, and in each case it was like the woman was ingratiating herself towards alimony... to coin a phrase. It was usually the second band of gold (or other metal) that caused the syndrome we seem to have sidetracked onto! Any word on what a Flicking console does to one's libido? I'm hearing about lots of time spent on knees...

Other wise it's a tech whose there because something blew not you getting blown, though when you get his bill you think you should and the coke coating what ever he replaced should have covered it ! Plus you notice the parts without the cocain suddenly the ch seams to have less highend extension !
