I found this video fascinating. Check out the 1:00 mark where Ringo talks about using his shoulder and playing a bit behind the beat on the second down beat. It contributed to his way of creating a swing to the beat.
Is there really any way to duplicate this second down beat swing using VST's like Superior Drummer?

copy/drag the midi out of ez drummer and into your midi track, set your tempo and meter, with 16ths or 32nds, and edit the midi to bring back the hit a line or two, until it sounds right. I've used drumsite forever and when I got into ez drummer/superior drummer, I've kept that whole midi editing thing going.

Do you do it hit by hit, or is there a way to program the editor so that all second downbeat hits as described in the video can be nudged back (late) with one command or macro?

I'm old school, and drop the second hit back the "4 and" manually. If I get one iteration really good, I then copy that and paste it over and over to finish out the verse.
