To be fair, I think the situation hasn't really affected the bottom lines of most small time/independent artists and I couldn't care less what Taylor Swift's royalty cheques look like. I think it's maybe stressed a certain band of middle income artists who still pay for all the services of a label but don't get much/anything back in return, but I don't feel its hurting the artists in my area. On the contrary, we're in the middle of a cultural boom.

The graph is using current industry econometrics, billions and millions mixed with algorithms and linear equations as devised by scientists working at Spotify and Warner Music Group.
