Another set of monitors to add to the arsenal. B&W Matrix 802 Series 2. Got a great deal, $1K for the pair! Initial impression is that they will be all I hoped for. Flat full range with no external subwoofers, accurate, honest and musical. The imaging is incredible and the phantom center has the vocalist right there in the room with me. I don't think they'll change my processing decisions much, but I'm definitely looking forward to the pleasure of working with these beasts! Down side - they are very heavy. One of them crushed my toe and the other one threw my back out - Doh! Today is second day at home on pain killers. Gah. It will be worth it...

I remember back in the day getting excited about a new computer purchase. These days, it's just kind of a bummer, because it means not getting something else in the studio. Sounds like you can relate, Vincent R.. Well, unless the old machine was truly holding me back. In those cases, I'm still thrilled to get a new machine!

Not the most exciting gear, but the backbone of my studio. I remember back in the day getting excited about a new computer purchase. These days, it's just kind of a bummer, because it means not getting something else in the studio. Sounds like you can relate, Vincent R. . Well, unless the old machine was truly holding me back. In those cases, I'm still thrilled to get a new machine! My old 2010 iMac just couldn’t function with the large arrangements I use for my music. I couldn’t even run more that 1 VI at a time, and often not even that. I would normally bounce down each individual VI and then mix, but by the time I had 15 or so stereo instruments running it made processing them with EQ, etc very difficult. My computer just couldn’t handle it. When I did my first album I pushed it to its limit and it nearly died on me. Lol. I’ve been recording a Christmas Album since June and my arranger, a dear friend of mine and my wife’s, mentioned to my wife that the system repeatedly failed and had to be rebooted. It was actually my wife that finally said just do it. Me? I wanted a FleA 49 Next to pair with my FleA 49 or the Stam SA67 NOS edition.

Today on my bench with an option to buy Um not to be too forward . . . but you know I need one of them, right? Think a sorta-friend and customer could exercise that option should you pass on it?

Yesterday I bought something I've waited 20 years to buy. I got a Yamaha U3 piano. I could not afford a new one but found a refurbished U30B1 (same as U3 but not for the US market). It plays like new and looks great with just a little finish checking. I've used samples forever and my favorite samples were always the Addictive Keys upright, which is a U3. Very forward and present sound. For the type of recordings I do, (singer songwriter) it's perfect. Now I have the real thing. The only big problem is that I have to find storage outside the studio so I can make a place for the piano. Can't wait to have it delivered. Thats a great sounding piano, I always thought it sounded best with a pair of 87 behind it on the soundboard like this.

Way too many drum projects and partial sets. I’ve been overrun.
I did get 2 channel A Designs 500 series rack cheap that’s holding s Standard Audio Level-Or. Not sure what to toss in the other space. I think I’m going to get one of the DIYRE units and get some of the distortion/tape/saturation modules to play with. I dug how the Tascam one sounded...that blown up sound can be fun sometimes

Also picked up a few more headphone amps/boxes because the floor isn't messy enough . Need more wires strewn about.

I wish I had the room to keep it out from the wall a bit farther, but space is a bit limited. I'd also read about removing the bottom panel and recording it down low. I'd think the pedal noise would be more than I'd want, but I'll try most anything.

And vocal isolation isn't as good. But it will work.

One of my best friends is head of purchasing. I be got boxes of fun stuff from Stew Mac in my workshop. I have been on a long journey of learning electronics, guitar maintenance, and Etc. Stew Mac has been a valuable resource for me for tools and parts, but just as much for the instructional videos that they are constantly posting. Lot of respect for that company. Fret Erasers are a good product, but like anything, I'm learning how to use it and I think I'd order a very slightly different version of things the next time. I do not find that they are a substitute for coarse sandpaper. More useful for the medium/fine polishing before the steel wool comes out to finish. The guitar came out beautiful by the way:

We just got a 1979 Mk 1 Fender Rhodes 73 Stage piano into the studio.
Wow it sounds so good!!! Its in perfect condition too .. its always been in studios and everything works. We plugged it into a Fender Ultimate chorus and could not believe how ready-to-be-on-a-record it sounded.
I cant seem to add photos here from my mobile ...
