Just arrived from Bryce @highlanddynamics, modified to include variable attack & 3 position threshold. Incredibly sweet. I want to spread the word as he was super kind to match my old one with a new brother and, then do this new mod. Add behind them or, in front of, the Foote P4 DMS = dang.

As a but of help... there's a guy in Portugal makes replacement dampening pedals if you need one. I got one for my 1978 EP200 off him . . . probably 10 years ago. Maybe I should say there WAS a guy n Portugal . I have no idea who is was now, and I just checked the pedal and there are no identifiable markings of any sort on it.

Just couldn't pass a decent deal on an RCA MI-12241, which is kinda like a BA-2 preamp circuit with a tilt EQ built in. They're BA-1 / BA-11 footprint and connector, but the connector is wired differently, so that'll get rewired to match the BA series rack I have. Pretty unique option to have around.

I can't be that old guy going "I'm still using a 10 year old quad core for HD...WTF are you guys doing wrong?"....anymore. New machine is purring at 12 threads of 4.3ghz, all Samsung 970EVO storage. Silent. SILENT. Ironically, nice noisy mechanical keyboard for it, but I understand that's a matter of getting used to not having to smack it.
Load a new song with an "all Bleed" Superior3 kit, Ivory AmericanD, B5, and a few Keyscape EPs....? Got 20sec to wait? All 100% playable and loaded. In trying to utilize the DSP power "for sonic good" I'm gonna try to stay in Mixbus32c unless I need MIDI sequence/editing for something (strings....horns). Cross that bridge when I get there. Cubase6 runs...albeit...unlike reports I'd read, I would not call it "running fine". It runs...but, as someone whose used that nearly every day for 8 years--and nearly never tanked it on windows (OSX was a different story)...it's pretty easy to crash. Weird buggy stuff. But, as not often as I need to do string arranging, it will suffice, I think.

Yup, ordered the e904s from AMS or ZZounds in March, came in June, then ordered the e902 from Sweetwater in April, and it shipped in July. I haven't seen any more 900 series mics for $99 after April, think they decided it was a nice idea but they're putting all their effort into cranking out models with no mark-up on them! I was told that Sennheiser is known to put a big cut on any given mic in their line, from time to time, just happened to be these, this time. I'm also really happy with my drum sound right now. e902 is beating a couple of very respectable other options in the kick for me. Drum sound is something that I am constantly chasing. I'm using an unconventional overhead approach right now, too. Sort of a narrowed ORTF maybe 45 degrees wide. First tracking session with the Sennheisers yesterday, started with the e902 on kick, 545SD on top snare and e904s on bottom snare, tom and floor. Swapped the bottom snare for a 57, then the floor for a 421 and finally the tom for another 421. The e902 worked nicely, looks like the rim-mounted mics will primarily be for live use, saves three stands on the kit.

No particular reason other than to change things up over time. My tom sounds are quite good now, though. I am using EV CO4 on the high toms and an AKG D112 on the floor tom. I try no to be overly picky about tom sounds because it can drive me crazy thinking about all the mics out there. I think the e902 is a very useful kick mic. For that punchy/attack sound that it can give. Maybe not my first call for a more acoustic kind of production. But for rock stuff it's perfect.

I snagged a Roland SDX-330 off eBay. Been interested in them for a long time to see how well they do the Dimension D thing. I’ve only read positive things about them
Also the Waves Abbey Road Chamber because why not for $25

Yes, there's a good bit of click on that kick but I like it's tightness, the B52A sounds a bit bloated by comparison. It's nice having some compact clip-ons for those impossible to reach drums, I use these dynamics on shells: EV N/D408A & RE15 Sennheiser MD421, e904 & e902 Shure SM57/545SD, SM58/565SD & Beta 52A Only the 408s and 904s can really sneak into tight spots.

Took a 10 hour road trip across two states to score $10K worth of acoustic treatment for pennies on the dollar (something like 80% off). GIK 242, 244, Monster Bass Traps, Tri-Traps, some with scatter plates, some with Range Limiting membranes, RFZ Panels, bamboo Space Couplers and Prism Panels, Q7d diffusors, etc. So much stuff. This might be the best pro audio deal I've ever scored, and I can't even plug a mic into it. But it may very well end up being one of my most important purchases. Still can't believe I picked up all this for the price of a compressor.

I've priced GIK out so many times, and always choke on the final cost. And I hesitate to buy used- but your stuff looks new-in-box. Beautiful.
