Hard to follow that one, but I got a Sennheiser e902 kick microphone.
It's punchier and more defined than most kick mics I've tried...recommended.

Bought a Gator GRC-6x4 rack with 6 slanted spaces over 4 vertical to use as a stage box. Bought a Behringer XR18 to go in the top and picked up a miniDSP balanced speaker processor and an old Belkin wifi router to mount next to it. Bought a Behringer NU4-6000 to go in the bottom to power 2 subs, 2 mains, 2 monitors and a drum monitor. It's a nice little throw and go rig with my old passive boxes. Also have a Sennheiser e902 and three e904s on order, love this Evolution anniversary monthly mic sale. And this just in, two Stam 1073s on order as well. The rack, mixer, amp and even the miniDSP unit from Hong Kong came in super quick so I could wire the live/rehearsal rack together... The Sennheiser $99 sale had all the mics back-ordered, so I just got the three e904s in last month and the e902 should be here tomorrow. All I'm waiting on now are the two Stam 1073EQs... I bought the IK Ampeg SVX 2 upgrade today, mostly because I already had 35 credits on my account, but also because I knew after I paid I would get it immediately, no waiting, just had to remember what that felt like.

Oh cool... I should have looked or noticed the e904 tom mics. I bet those are great. My e902 came from Sweetwater and it nearly took 3 months at $99 I would guess you're in the same boat.

Yup, ordered the e904s from AMS or ZZounds in March, came in June, then ordered the e902 from Sweetwater in April, and it shipped in July. I haven't seen any more 900 series mics for $99 after April, think they decided it was a nice idea but they're putting all their effort into cranking out models with no mark-up on them!

I was told that Sennheiser is known to put a big cut on any given mic in their line, from time to time, just happened to be these, this time. I'm also really happy with my drum sound right now. e902 is beating a couple of very respectable other options in the kick for me. Drum sound is something that I am constantly chasing. I'm using an unconventional overhead approach right now, too. Sort of a narrowed ORTF maybe 45 degrees wide.

One of the perks of helping Antelope Audio with their microphones. This arrived with the mail today So jealous! I want this as my main back bone to start. Be so great to have 64ch I/O in 2U of space with PTHD They sent you a bowl of fruit? COOL!

This has been a crazy expensive year, so far. - Pair of ATC 100s. This was a major investment, and I most likely won't be able to make such an expensive studio purchase ever again. That said, I have never heard speakers as great as these. I was already hooked, after hearing them in other studios. But I was not prepared for the shocking difference they made in our place. They are both pleasant sounding AND accurate. How's that even possible??
- Retro STA-Level. Finally. Have been lusting for one since I first used one, many years ago.
- Gibson acoustic. '56 LG-1. Player's guitar. It's been through a lot, by the looks of it. But it sounds glorious. Small body. Perfect for recording.

I just won a TapeOp magazine and Audio Technica promotion drawing and received a set of their ATH-R70x headphones. I guess these types of drawings really are real. First time I've ever won anything like this. The headphones are really light, comfortable, and have a nice even sound. Could be my new favorite.

Man, I'm gonna have to step up my game to keep up! I'm considering going all-in with Avid HDX and 64 analog channels of HD I/O interfaces. I have an 11 HD license so it's only semi-crazy bucks to reinstate. And fill my racks with as many comps and EQs as I can find. And buy more racks. Go big, or go home. Wait- I am at home!

Thank you! Me too! What a coincidence. I have just set up my new ATC SCM100 yesterday. Accurancy + fun to listen nails it. Best speakers...love them Congrats! The Accuracy + Fun to listen to-part is kind of making me paranoid and questioning my own critical sense. Is it just the honeymoon effect and/or our subconscious minds trying justify it, just to keep us sane?
You guys and your ATC 100’s Jealous! I usually secretly roll my eyes when people use the phrase "game changer" about something. But I can't really think of any other way of describing them.

do you have a pair of ATC 100 and found them not acurate and super fun to listen?

I'm considering going all-in with Avid HDX and 64 analog channels of HD I/O interfaces. ! I don't think you would regret that Matt. I've got a HDX2 with 96 i/o and it's the literal backbone of everything that gets done here. Couldn't do without it. If you need killer Avid prices, shoot me a PM. There's a guy in LA that kills all other pricing that I've seen.....

As my bassist put it, "Your'e getting good on PT and you're thinking about Cubase? Say what?" I realized last night that I'm buying into the Plugin Alliance eco-system and all of their plugs do AAX DSP. Unfortunately not many others are doing this beyond McDSP and Sonnox. If I buy an HDX card, I want to use the thing beyond the ultra-low latency capability!
