^^^^ I picked one of those up SUPER cheap, planning to flip it, but it is a damn nice kit. This coming from somebody that never uses anything made after '68 haha. Have fun with it! Is it 10/12/16/22 sizes? So far this thing sounds great. The kick is a little hard to tame so far though.

The Stam SA4000 arrived! Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. I'm behind on the previous requests for my thoughts on the Clariphonic MS as well - haven't forgotten! Lovin' those Rogers kit pics. Attachments:

Odd sizes for me, but the toms all sound great and the BD is big sounding. Still not sure if I’ll keep it or not. I don’t do too much that needs a modern sound. It is really fun to play though.

A friend just gave me one of these. Tim, This is BM6. Try to find the top one BM7 and you will get BM5 stereo system. On top of this one there should be a plastic black cap. Pry it off to expose connector for the BM7. It's being held with friction. Best, M

Best Service has a lot of Chris Hein instruments on sale for 30% off. I grabbed the Horns which I've been wanting for some time.

This is a very unhealthy place for me some times. ...
Just unpacked the '66 Gretsch 6122 and went ahead and order an Audioscape 76N, and pre-ordered two of his midrange EQs... and added yet another 9625 and a bunch of additional db25 snakes.
This place sucks . . . (my wallet dry)

Well I said I'd never do this again after racking up loans for equipment in the past, at least this time I can afford it.. I've pretty much re-kitted my studio. Dyanaudio LYD-48's + I'm about to order some Gethain RL906's as backups (maybe, open to suggestions on that one). Serviced my U67, bought a U89I. Dumped my Daking's and replaced them Neve 1073's and DBX 676's. Dumped anything that had the word Warm in it and replaced them with Manley Nu-Mu's, LA2A's (which I had in storage) and ELOP's. Dumped all my 8 strings and replaced them with Washburn Parallaxe's. Actually spent more the $50.00 on an acoustic, picked up a Faith something or other (a decent one). Bought a new Fender Bass, a decent one. Finally decided I like the Soundcraft MTK-22 more than anything else, so got one. Bought NI Komplete ultimate (love the Softube plugs). Wow, it's been an interesting year so far.. Especially as my original budget was $700.00 for some monitors ..!

Thanks, this time around I believe I did it the right way.. I've worked with some rather decent gear over the years, but as I thought it's just for me shy'd away from committing. So this time around instead of just going with the GS low end flavor of the month, I saved and I tested everything in my own chain to make sure it sounded exactly how I wanted to. After I'd spent months testing not a lot was off the cards as I continued to save every spare penny, if I wanted a Chandler Redd or even an SSL Matrix Delta it wouldn't of been off the cards but there had to be reason and some sort of practicality behind it.. I might look at a TOFT ATB 32 with Antelope AD / DA in the future, not sure the Soundcraft has been mighty impressive so far it's just a shame they don't do a more expensive feature complete version.

Bought a Gator GRC-6x4 rack with 6 slanted spaces over 4 vertical to use as a stage box. Bought a Behringer XR18 to go in the top and picked up a miniDSP balanced speaker processor and an old Belkin wifi router to mount next to it. Bought a Behringer NU4-6000 to go in the bottom to power 2 subs, 2 mains, 2 monitors and a drum monitor. It's a nice little throw and go rig with my old passive boxes.
Also have a Sennheiser e902 and three e904s on order, love this Evolution anniversary monthly mic sale.
And this just in, two Stam 1073s on order as well.

When we were in college my wife had to sell her ‘72 Thinline Deluxe so we could pay the bills. I asked her the other day if she ever missed and she said she’s always regretted selling it, so I bought her a new one.

Wow, it's been an interesting year so far.. Especially as my original budget was $700.00 for some monitors ..! [ Im impressed, back in my gear pimp days I pissed my bosses off with this attitude but since I always nailed quota, even in coma they didn’t scream to loudly , here’s my point: I always encouraged people to not buy a whole bunch of new gear at once. I always have felt buying a piece learning it backwards and forward was better, most who buy a large quantity of gear even those of us who have had the experience of using a ton of gear always seam to end up finding in that large purchase we probably should have made some other choice’s and costs us in the long run. Of course I shall admit that part of the reason for developing this philosophy is that I have found my self climbing out of this well myself more than once and when my bank acct allows me to will probably trip over that same stone again and again that’s why I have an Otari Status taking up a large part of my storage unit ! 😁
