Just ordered a Buso Producer XL desk for the new studio. 2 x 6 U rack space on top and 2 x 14 U below. Nice big center flat area for my RND 5060 and a laptop. Finally going to tidy up all my rack gear into one professional looking unit. I think it will help give that pro feel to the studio even though we don't have a large console .. just the 5060 :-)

I wish they weren't red, though. Some people call them permanent markers, some others call them magic markers. Either way, they come in a variety of colors, including black, and they can 'erase' that red!!

I think the Buso XL is the only desk I found that would be an upgrade for me. Without dipping into custom carpentry... Would love to make that upgrade, one day.

'72 Guild D35. I've never played an acoustic guitar that fits me like this one. From the tone to the physical playability, I've finally found my elusive ultimate acoustic. Abbey Road Plates - I completely agree with Sean. It's the best ITB reverb I've ever owned and I had Relab LX480 and still have Valhalla Vintage Verb. The Drum Room preset is fantastic. I also have a Stam SA2A and SA4000 coming. It's going to be a good summer. Old Guilds are amazing. I have a '64 D-40, first year of production.

New Pitchblack PolyTune pedal!!! (my third Korg Pitchblack tuner, they are just my favorite.)
And perhaps most importantly, a $12 "Quad pot assembly" to give myself a brand new, no more 'scratchies' main volume knob for my Drawmer MC2.1 Monitor Controller!!!

I just received a second Korg Monotribe as well as a Korg Volca Kick.
You can check out my Instagram and Monkey_Dangus if you want to see a snapshot of the three in action.
I'm just sitting here eating spaghetti and beer and jamming on these things all day now.

Looking to see how this Ampex 601 2 x channel tube pre-amp sounds. Took a while to get it built but hopefully it was worth the wait. Attachment Deleted

"2 x Nissei (Sifam AL29WF lookalike) large VU Meter "
I would be careful with the ballistics on these ones. They might look pretty but I wouldn't trust them too much.

I would be careful with the ballistics on these ones. They might look pretty but I wouldn't trust them too much. Interesting. Are there alternative meters you would recommend? AFAIK even the AL29WF is not a true VU meter but the ballistics are close enough. In fact, I'm not sure if Sifam have full specs VU meters. Saying that, it really depends on the application. If you want to use them on a preamp or compressor, they should do the job. But for critical applications like mastering I would probably go for true VU meters. Maybe someone with more knowledge about meters can chime in I'm not familiar with the Nissei but I very much doubt they are full spec VU meters. Here you can see a comparison between full spec VU meters and the Sifam. www.sifam.com/meterCategory.asp?cat=Presentor%20-%20ALwww.sifam.com/meterCategory.asp?cat=VintageMy opinion is that nowadays most modern equipment (if not all) use meters for the "wow factor" rather than for real metering.

Interesting. I’m mainly using them for gainstaging at the beginning of a mix or setting levels on the way in. The ballistics appear to be close enough to VUMT. For mastering and the like I’m spoiled with Insight and other such loudness meters. ...... (and yes, clients love ‘em. Those VU meters really tie the room together.)
