Just nabbed a 24x8 Soundtracs MRX24 with power supply off CL in "basement storage condition". VERY dirty and neglected. After 2 cans of deoxit and a complete cleaning of all knobs, channels, and some extensive rewiring on the meter bridge, it's passing signal on 22 of the 24 channels, with the 2 remaining needing some new chips to get going. First order of business is recap the PS and lots of PB wiring. Best $500 i've ever spent.
If you grab a Soundtracs that needs some love, I highly recommend contacting Studio Systems with any questions. They have been very helpful.

Picked up ozone 8.

Those old mid priced Soundtracs get lost in the field of 80's and 90's mixers good find, better if your in the U.K. Thanks to Studio Systems!

Just snagged an Electrodyne 2501. Oh my gawd. If I could go back in time and redo all my preamp purchases it would be for more of these. It seems to have more weight in the lows than my Heritage 1073 which could get a hair smeared down there. The mids are creamy and punchy and the high end has enough harmonics to keep it interesting without sounding phasey or unnatural. Can’t wait to start stacking tracks with these!

how is the proximity effect when the dual diagrams are mixed to make an Omni pattern? I'm wondering how the dd sdc behave in this area. My guess is that it cancels out nicely. Interested to hear what you have found.

Interested to hear what you have found. When sweeping through patterns later, bass is strongest in omni. I'm getting pretty full bass at over 3ft. I think these are technically MDC? Pattern control with respect to frequency is the best I've used.

Got a call from a friend that a European label was closing their NYC office and had to dump a bunch of gear quick. Borrowed my dads pickup and shot over. For $500 (and $42 in Lincoln Tunnel tolls) I got:
-2 Ampeg 810e cabinets.
-Ampeg SVT7 Pro amp
-Egnator Tweaker 40
-Tama Starclassic Bubinga/Birch 22,10,12,16 with SKB road cases
-Full set of drum hardware including DW9000 bd pedal
-ddrum steel 14x8 snare
It was the haul of the century! I gave one of the bass cabs and some of the drum hardware to a buddy. I’m probably going to sell the other bass cab and get something more reasonable. Drum kit is getting sold as well. Haven’t tried the Egnator yet but if it’s cool I’ll keep it.

I broke my moratorium on not buying gear this year early. I've been using my Leslie 122 quite a bit lately, and when I saw this little Leslie 120 come up FS on Craigslist for $275, I couldn't not buy it. So now it's mine. Super vintage and in really great condition. I call him "mini-me"... Haha. So tiny compared to the 122 (which I got for free BTW years ago), and it's set up specifically for guitars (or keys or whatever). No amp, so you use your normal guitar amp speaker out, into the speaker in of the Leslie 120 and hook up it's fast/slow pedal. AWESOME!!! Really cool. Love Leslies..... Going to power it with either my 1W Emery Microbaby or the vintage blackface Deluxe Reverb. Attachment DeletedIf you want to check out the sound, here's what pushed me over the edge.....a one trick pony, but what a trick.....

It's an iconic sound, no doubt. Funny thing is, it actually belonged to the guy who owns the best local guitar repair shop in town. I'd been meaning to take several guitars in but hadn't got around to it yet, so....a great introduction to some really excellent players and luthiers. <<win/win>> I've got my wife's early 60's Tele that used to belong to Lowell George in there now - getting the front pickup rewound.

Am I tripping? Vintage King has a sticker price of $7999 for the Ibis whereas everywhere else the price is $4499. Nope, it must be someone else. Thought it was a flashback and that my eyes deceived me.

They are a lot of fun to throw bgvs into as well - or sometimes lead vocals if the tune Calls for it!

I just got this Funked-Up wah pedal, price of free I think I might do a point-to-point "mojo" wah build with carbon comp resistors, etc. That would be something different to what I have already now.
