Got the Moog Spectravox but quickly returned it. Cool box on paper and there are some interesting sounds but in practice, wasn't nearly as smooth as I hoped. Vocoder kind of sucks but the two line / carrier inputs are also weird and blow up way too early. Didn't care to find out if my unit was defective but safe to say, I probably won't buy another inMusic era Moog product again. A real shame since I loved everything they were doing before the acquisition.

Just ordered a new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6k full frame. B&H had them for $1000 off for the past month or so, ending last night. At the last minute, I just couldn't resist.

Ordered two ADT Olympic MicEQ modules! Been on the wait list for years, and really fell in love after I heard what bricejchandler was doing with them.

Sigh...a new hard drive, probably to be followed by a 2nd to clone the 1st, because one of my main backups was starting to chirp last time I used it.
The SATA monitoring says it's still healthy, but once those noises show up I don't like to take chances.
The punchline being that it's coming out of the funds that were being saved up as part of the Black Friday budget. Easy come, easy go.

HudsonicOn GS, you mentioned that you bought the new Lewitt tube mic several months ago. Any thoughts you want to share over here?

Have some decisions to make on how this is gonna get used. Tracking and mixing? Just mix? I have to make some room in the rack. Etc. Plus I am just a weekend warrior and have been so for a bunch of decades. Plus my ears, and the rest of me, are 60. And Josh did a nice video review of the V2. All that said I will give my impression after I have had a bit of time with it. Definitely looking forward to seeing and hearing what it can do. Cheers, Geoff

Hudsonic On GS, you mentioned that you bought the new Lewitt tube mic several months ago. Any thoughts you want to share over here? Thank you for your question. I did not keep that Lewitt mic. I did not even open it so I cannot offer any opinion. I put that money towards some other new mics, Senn. MKH 800 Twins.

Opened up a project that I downloaded files off the web ages ago. Like a decade. I kinda use as a practice piece to try out new stuff, techniques etc. But its something I considered reasonably dialled in. Put it through the V2. Demudded something I didn’t know needed demudding. Drums snapping nice and crisp. Am I really going to use the 17k? Turns out yes, yes I am. Took all of about a minute to improve things immensely. Fiddled about for about another hour. Even pushed to the limits never sounded phasey or weird. More experimenting to come but initial thoughts are this thing is pretty dang cool. Cheers, Geoff

These babies don't cost more'n a few nickels, but I'm in love with coming up with new, interesting and freaky voicing on acoustic. Partial capos have been around for who knows how long but they're brand spankin' new to me. I've ordered a 5 string version and it'll be here on Monday. I've been scouting for a two-string but haven't yet found one. I might have to MacGyver one of my own from a three-er. ![](https://i.postimg.cc/HkG4Kbd4/20240625-220044.jpg)

Now of course you can buy them. Super fun stuff!
