Not quite as lofty of an acquisition as some, but after 17 months on order, my Klark Teknik 2A-KT came in A truck load came in last week and was gone immediately (SW), but they must have received another load because today I see "in stock". The price is $379 now, up from the $299 price when I bought.

Never ever trust an online “in stock claim”, with SW they might even be in the building but someone might have to manually move them from receiving to the distributor part of the company in the computer.

The price is $379 now, up from the $299 price when I bought. Never ever trust an online “in stock claim”, with SW they might even be in the building but someone might have to manually move them from receiving to the distributor part of the company in the computer. Sure, though I don't think that situation would persist long for a company like SW that relies on moving gear efficiently through mail order. They've always been accurate for me, though I do think I've been on the phone with them in the past when they've checked to see if something just came in, as you say. Last week I got a call from SW that my order was being filled, my sales guy said a truck load had come in and the unit already on backorder again. And it was showing backordered on their site. Checking today, it's "in Stock", so I suspect that's true. In fact, I ordered the other Klark Teknik pieces (EQP-KT and 76-KT) at the same time 17 months ago. They each came in at a different time. Both times, their system failed to notify me or to fill my order, because it was mistakenly in the system as requiring the entire order to be filled at once. But because I as eager, I checked the site often, and for each item (weeks apart), when I found one showing "In Stock", I called and they apologized and filled my order. Both times, the count they gave of the stock was 2 or 3, and indeed the items were backordered shortly after for months—probably some came in, but were filling existing orders. So, my experience is that SW is pretty accurate, barring a small window for incoming deliveries at least. I see that the 76-KT is also showing in-stock today, but not the EQP-KT. On the other hand, I have absolutely zero confidence in Home Depot. If you look up an item on their website, it gives the exact (lol) count of the item in stock at the particular store, and what aisle and bay it's located in. Pure fantasy. I've even gone to three consecutive local stores for one item that showed well-stocked, all were out of stock. I learned to order items online for in-store pickup, then wait for an hour or so and see if I get an automatic cancellation due to being out of stock, then try another store. It doesn't matter if their site shows 67 on hand, it's meaningless. You'd think that in some cases maybe they've come in, but haven't been put on the floor yet. Nope, that situation can persist for weeks or months, and they don't warehouse "in back" in general anyway, the floor is where it goes. During the lockdown, I ordered a squat rack for my garage from Dick's. The order bounced on my local store ("one in stock") after they tried to pick it hours later after already giving me a pickup time, same with another store, and finally found a store that showed 17 in stock and ordered yet again—yep, they actually had it.

Actually big companies are far worse, to much stuff in the warehouse, guys who see the discrepancies are to damn busy to pass it on to those who can correct the issues and a smaller percentage of employees have the permissions to correct it. This from a guy who literally had the keys to the proverbial computer kingdom at one of SW biggest competitors and consults retail. Of course this weekend I got burned on a RS232 to USB cable that was “ in stock” but it being a holiday weekend, the biggest shopping weekend and $12 I believed it !

In the past 6 months: A Flea 47, a D12E, a D19C, and a Chandler RS660… there’s an obvious influence here, haha!

Picked up a Maschine MK3 controller at my local Sam Ash. I was heavy into the NI Komplete world a decade ago and just preferred playing real keyboards so kind of lost sight of it. But we have a song that needs a killer beat and I'm not getting it with my TR-707 and layered samples. So we'll see what this thing can do. Impressively built, just like most German engineered things are. Watching video after video to try to get up to a creative moment with it.

Got an Empirical Labs DerrEsser in today. Want to see what this can do as an alternative of chaining plugin de-essers to control things.

API 5500 for mixdown, giving me all-API on the 2-bus insert: 2500+ into the EQ, then back into PT for a little Elevate limiting. It's a beautiful thing.

Still waiting for delivery, but the DI with cab emulation on sounds pretty good in the videos. Would probably still track an uncompensated output as well to try different IRs, but be great for monitoring latency free. I believe a new BE-Deluxe module is coming out, hence them blowing out existing stock. So one more unobtanium module for the collection! While I was waiting for your response I went ahead and bought one! I figure I can sell my Randall RM50 and, depending on the sound, sell the Freidman BE module and come out ahead. No brainer. Following up on this after delivery and playing it for a bit, the cab simulation on the output is really good. I plugged the 1/4" main out with the cab simulation enabled into a 2 channel interface that provides hardware monitoring and it sounded great in the phones. Dialed in some verb on the interface DSP FX, played the Friedman's blue channel with my P90s, sounds like a keeper to me.

I had one for a couple years and sold it awhile back…I personally prefer 414’s on toms but I still haven’t found something I really love on snare drum (mostly looking for weight) and thought I’d give it a try. Also, I think it be a good banjo microphone

I received my matt@IAA new Preamp and EQ a few days ago. Finally started using them today. And, am I impressed? I'm having hot flashes. This has been a year of mind-blowing new preamps! The Audioscape 1290, Golden (this is the GOAT) and now the IAA QP5. Talk about WOW FACTOR!

I’m new here.
This was the year to expand my project studio to accommodate live drum tracking. To my Apollo x4 and x8p (qty 2) setup, I have just added a Dangerous 2-bus LT (just racked) and Focal Shape Twin monitors (still burning in).
Also have an Advanced Audio CM48T large diaphragm tube condenser on order.

I recently bought a couple of Brauner Valvet X that are close in serial numbers. I wasn’t sure at first but then I realised they filled a gap bang in the middle of my ldc’s that is unique. Not too modern, not as bright as I imagined and obviously they will disappear so I had FOMO. They’re deep and smooth but with enough edge to sound modern without any hype. I think I maybe have enough mics in the locker now.
