I just swung by Carlos's place to pick up my preordered pair of Serrano 84 mics. They look great! It'll be a few days before I get to really try them out, but I'm really looking forward to it. other mark, Please report back after you've had some time with them. -09 Absolutely - will do. I'll try and record some comparisons on acoustic guitar and vocals. It may be a couple weeks before I have a chance to get it done, but I'll pull something together.

Bought a PDP drum set with a ton of cymbals and stands and bags to flip but kept a few things: Paiste 2002 18" Thin Crash, Paiste Signature 10" Splash, several nice bags, and 3 nice Tama cymbal stands the get very compact, unlike the Ludwig stands I have in the studio now...so those are going to be on the chopping block next

Seller had a Chandler Mini Mixer for a good price on the 'verb so I picked it up. Looking forward to doing a mix through it .vs the same mix done on the SumBus. Still going to use the B26 for monitoring duties though as well as easy no-latency tracking. I saw that! Was a 6 channel, right? I imagine the SumBus will be more color. I’m getting ready to build my 16 channel SumBus. It's a 16 channel, but for sure looking forward to mixing the same song through each to see what's up! That's awesome on your SumBus. Look forward to hearing your impressions of it. It's a beast.

And let me know too because I would love to meet you (if Matt will let me come back over 😂).

I'm in Dallas and Greg's just outside the city. If that's doable travel-wise on your end jcoutu1 by all means let's set that up! gwlee7 you are welcome back anytime, man! You still need to borrow the Serrano 87 and check that thing out for your needs.

I ordered up a pair of the Massdrop HD6xx cans and they got here today. Not sure I’d be able to make mix decisions on them, but Ive been enjoying the hell out of listening to stuff on them the past 2 1/2 hours or so!

Gristle King v3 pedal, bought from Greg Koch at his recent show in Costa Mesa. This is a gain-ey pedal! switchable pre/post overdrive boost. Sounds good, but I don't know if I need this much gain. It doesn't have the TS9 mid-hump, so it's just more gain, and the boostahead of it really gets into creamy lead sounds. I'm now playing my direct Drive with gain at 9:00 and sometimes just the Archer Ikon on to push the front of the amp. But for over the top gain, this definitely does the trick... Still haven't decided if I'll keep or sell. I need to rewire my pedalboard so that the audition jacks are post wah so I can see what it sounds like there. Would be a bold move to ditch the overdrive I've used for 22 years... Attachments:

Running them balanced off a FiiO BTR5 BT DAC/amp made a nice difference with mine, looks like the BTR7 is the updated version: www.fiio.com/btr7Picked up Softube's Wasted Space for $19 with this coupon code: WASTEDSPACE67 Bought their Model 84 synth earlier this month, so I'm sure they'll both be in the next Volume upgrade now that I paid for them individually... Also bought IK's MixBox thingie for $30. There was a $50 off code that overlapped the current $80 sale, plus a buy 1 get 3 free thing going on, so what the heck!

I got a B-Stock Ludwig 5x14 Supraphonic for $300 earlier this week. There’s a little blemish in the finish on the inside and there’s no serial on the badge, but I’m fine with that. I already have an Acrolite, but like this better.

Did my back a favor earlier today and swung by a used office furniture store and snagged a Herman Miller Aeron.

largely due to the praise on this forum I ordered a Beyerdynamic M88TG very much looking forward to this one mostly for bass cab and kick drum duties and some other things as well
and the Serrano 84 pair should be here on Monday good times ahead
successfully sold off a D112 and SM57 to defray some of the cost which is great I am hoping to unload a few more cheapo mics before too long

Thanks Mark. Yes; inside kick requires a windscreen that covers the ENTIRE basket. I bought a non-beyer version that works fine for about $12. The whoosh of air in/out of the port hole puts an exaggerated strain on the capsule and will break it over time if a foamy isn’t used. Otherwise, enjoy the best bass drum sound available 👍

Not exactly "fun" purchased but got Auto-Align and VocAlign Ultra. I'm all about things that make my life easier and make the mundane task go faster so I can spend more time on the creative/inspiring stuff
