Just ordered phase 1 of my acoustic treatment upgrade. I ordered everything, except the panels for the ceiling. I figured I would treat my walls first and then see if the ceiling panels are really needed. Should be here by the end of the year. I'm excited.

I'm really curious how this new setup will tame the room more, especially with Emily and I recording together or stereo recording of certain instruments. Time will tell. I can't do much better than this in my current space.

Okay guys, help me figure out figure what I'm aiming for next. NO qualifying questions here, no additional information provided. I want both of them, and I just can't decide which one I'm going to pull the trigger on once it's available.
This post will also retro-actively be a "latest gear I bought" post...
Audioscape 76A or Audioscape V-Comp+?

V-Comp+... because in the absence of any other information or idea of your needs, it just looks cool!

After going back and forth between a few desks, I took the plunge and ordered a Dangerfox 24U Genesis Desk with a matching 12U Undercarriage Rack. I'm really excited. I'm really looking forward to having all of my important gear in one place, with a bit of room to grow too. I'm so often a one man shop here, that this will make tracking myself easier. There are a few quandaries in regards to computer monitor and studio monitor set up, but all that will be sorted after it arrives. BTW, there is a Black Friday discount going on now on the desks right now. So, if you're looking for a desk check them out: www.dangerfox.comCool video the Dangerfox 24U Genesis:

I got this rather nice 66 channel USB interface from RME! It solves my problem, (I hope) of a computer that doesn't like my MOTU Ultralite which I am using (testing) right now as a pure ADAT I/O standalone analog interface, with the RME doing the digital as well as allowing major expansion of I/O for bigger projects

V-Comp+... because in the absence of any other information or idea of your needs, it just looks cool! Perfect response. It has been decided. I got this rather nice 66 channel USB interface from RME! Do you notice much of a delay introduced from ADAT conversion vs using the Motu by itself on a previous computer? How's the overall experience? (Ignoring Totalmix)

How's the overall experience? (Ignoring Totalmix) I'm going to some more in depth testing later, regarding latency, performance under load, and etc. So far, just got it unboxed, installed, and making sounds. But I'll make more posts about it when I get into the recording, and nitty gritty stuff. I expect it to be slower (slightly) than the Presonus Quantum but faster (most likely) than either of these MOTUs.

I am so impressed with this Behringer system so far. I’m definitely buying another mixer and would like to grab a few more in the future. I ran my vocal to channel 1 on the mixer, linked channels 3 & 4 and ran the instrument tracks there, linked channels 5 & 6 for the vocal effects. Then I just dialed the mix where I could hear what I needed and I was done. It was also loud enough that no headphone amp was needed. I’m really excited. Once my panels come in next month we'll get back to work recording the Christmas Album. This is going to make things so much easier for Emily and I. http://instagram.com/p/CWddxKHrEIy

Been some time since I used these; doesn't that distributor also run power to the personal mixer? (If so - are you finding better performance when still utilizing the dedicated power supply?)

Been some time since I used these; doesn't that distributor also run power to the personal mixer? (If so - are you finding better performance when still utilizing the dedicated power supply?) It runs power through the CAT5, so you don't need to use a dedicated power source unless you are daisy chaining units. The input module has (6) CAT5 outs, so you can power (6) mixer units. If you daisy chain them, you need to have dedicated power to the unit where the sound is going through. I haven't tried it with the dedicated power supply yet, although it was included with the mixer. My biggest worries were latency and volume. I had no issues with latency. I find most headphone outputs from interfaces to not give me enough volume while tracking. Not sure why, but that's what I find. My Apollo was like that and my Carbon is too. This had enough volume. I also have the bracket for this unit too. One will probably end up permanently mounted to one of the mic stands, but the other will end up on my desk for when I track there, which happens more than I'll admit. lol.

OH, OF COURSE! That's the headphone cable! I saw two coming out from the personal mixer and for some reason thought you had the dedicated power supply plugged in.
I'll take that dunce cap, thank you.

Picked up a Lawson L47MP on the cheap this morning. Needs a little tune up from Lawson (it’s an early one from 1996) but for the price I paid it’ll be worth it. Not sure I’ll keep it…we’ll see!
