Charlie should be every gear-junky's best friend. To be fair, you and I are his co-enablers. Haha!!!! Guilty!

I bought Sonarworks SoundID Reference. It does have some bugs but the systemwide now will work with Acon Digital Acoustica 7. I use it on my laptop for checking reference mixes when not in the studio. The previous version could not be selected as an output device by Acoustica. This solved that problem but it was not a smooth install. They don't even have a proper installer that can uninstall everything. You have to do some things manually. Had to install a few times after removing config files before I got it going. But... Sonarworks is essential in my work. It's invaluable.

Picked up IK's Sunset Sound Studio Reverb for $35 and GForce's M-Tron Pro Mellotron for $37 today. Also downloaded Spitfire's free BBC Symphony Orchestra and LABS libraries.
Edit: Went back to the IK sale and got Space Delay for $17 as well.

Sound Workshop 242C spring reverb, just because.
Califone Director portable turntable. A gift for a friend

Audeze LCD-X. Flatter and more even than the Beyer DT770’s or the Audio Technical ATH-M50X. Can actually hear what the low end is doing without the 60-80hz ‘enhancement’ and the 6-10khz zing of many headphones. Will spend more time with them before I post my detailed thoughts.

At that price, I certainly hope they are better than <$200 closed-back cans!!!
Impressive purchase!

Couple things came in today. Gotta say the BLA looks a lot classier in person. I know it's stupid, but I was initially kind of on the fence about the looks of it. Totally resolved that concern once it actually came in.

Got a bunch of parts. I'm going to build 2 more small diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones, since the first one turned out so well. And perhaps even more exciting I'm building a binaural head microphone. Sort of a DIY version of the Neumann dummy head microphone.
Also building some DIY Recording Equipment headphone amps, trying to improve the HD650 situation with the Motu M4.
And just like subspace I got IK Sunset Sound, and Space Delay, great plugins.
Too zonked by the vaccine to really do anything but this will all be exciting again soon, as the music starts to happen.

Do not love the visual design aesthetic.

I ended up staying with my existing interface but adding the RND headphone amp. Man that thing sounds good with HD650s.

I get that. Love LTL and want a Silver Bullet. Do not love the visual design aesthetic. Either Brad or drbill (or maybe both) are big fans of rMy Little Pony or Rainbow Bright. The Silver Bullet is very LOUD. hehehehehehe (ok, I'm in trouble with my friend now)

Good to hear your feedback. I decided to start with the cheapest option, of course. Been wanting to build some of Petersons amps for a long time, have a good reason now.

Been wanting to build some of Petersons amps for a long time, have a good reason now. I used to cohabitate (in the studio that is) with a Little Labs IBP. Was tempted by his amp, but the RND was on sale for $50 less and I had to go for it. Then Rupert passed and it was even a little more special to have a piece of his legacy in my home studio. I may actually bring it and my 650s to sessions now (first one in over a year in July!)

Curious to hear your thoughts on the SPX. I've got the DPX here myself. I’ll definitely share some clips once I take it for a spin. Hoping it’ll beat my Wunder... we’ll see! Are you using the A/D card with your DPX? I’d be curious to try that against my Lynx.
