I bought a Tapco 4400 spring reverb. Already have one, but couldn’t pass up a deal. This one has a bad op amp but I guess they started making RC4136 op amps again. Also replacing all the old plastic slide pots

Just got this Black Lion Audio Revolution 2x2 interface. Starting with a simple listening test, headphone amp is strong, DAC is very good, lots of bass coming through. It's a little more "exciting" sounding than the Topping DX7s. Not much to say yet it's only been here for a few minutes. You're a DACaholic!

I’ve been on a bit of a gear bender lately. Everything here is pretty new to me: Also picked up the AudioScape bus comp. Discovering AudioScape has not been great for my wallet 😀. But recordings are sounding pretty sweet. oh dude, that is #ASAF... or as I have to say over there . . . #ASAƒ (cos they figured out the F didn't really stand for Florida, they're clever!)

I got a new laptop late last night, an HP Pavilion with a Ryzen 7 4700U CPU, 8 cores. The intention is mobile production, hopefully will get to use it on the ROG Zoom meet up this evening. Been listening a bit to it with the M4 on headphones, haven't tracked anything yet.

I recently got a similar laptop with that processor and use it with a m2 and its been great.By far the best and cheapest mobile rig Ive ever had.I just picked up a tascam 20x20 used that has 10 analog ins and outs for budget location gigs and it also works great on a quick test.Latency on both has been really low in a test of live input processing- 32 buffer no prob. I like to play sax with effects live and have dreamed of having an inexpensive setup like this/Earlier ryzens seemed to have latency issues but it seems this has been worked out.I have a 12 year old desktop I need to replace one day soon and am trending towards amd

The laptop is working out great so far, but I had to put it away today, too much time staring at that screen. I'm excited to see how it does with some heavy audio!
Looks like maybe tomorrow I'll get my Dachman RK12 capsule in the post.

Today I'm getting a Motu M4 which I will directly compare to the BLA Revolution. There's a strong chance that the Revolution is going back, I'm not totally sold on the sound, and the drivers aren't 100% reliable. This has to be the end of the search. Until I can get something like a Babyface Pro or a Symphony Desktop, but that's an entirely different price point. I've been through just about every major small interface on the market by now. A good many of them, anyway. I’d be interested in having you post a short synopsis of the different small interfaces you’ve tried and maybe make a thread of it. There are a lot of options out there! Did you try the Audient? +1. I'd be interested as well. -09

I've been a bit slow moving the past couple days but I'm installing all the necessary files to start a project now, should have something to report within the next day or so. It's a great idea for a thread, and some impressions are already forming of the new ones.

I have a softube console 1 that I use from time to time. Now I have their American Class A plugin that I will use from time to time as well. It was deeply discounted and I had wanted to try it anyway.

Audioscape D-comp almost here. (Arrives Friday!) YAY!!! (Even though I am not sure I can remember all the comps I have. And yet the Audioscape D3a is on my list now.) Ok - forget about releasing me chessparov! - you are such a great person! Anyway, the D-comp came today and all I can say is - WOW WOW WOW WOW. I have the Buzz DBC and the Heritage 609a - and this D-comp is in a world by itself. It is like having another instrument. So many options and killer tone. The DBC is a nice clean version. The Heritage is no slouch but different. But the D comp can do a lot in the diode world. And that is no put down of the DBC and Heritage which are great and different. But the D comp is amazing. I don't know how anyone who can afford $1399 for two channels would not have one of these. Secondly, any time you can get an audioscape unit that is only one unit per channel - grab it (Only joking because - with space between units - I have two optos that take a lot of space - but they are worth it.) So, does this replace any of my other diode comps or the leviathans, the splices, the unbelievable Gyraf G22 or the wonderful BG1 or BG2? No. But as I said, this sits in a different universe! In fact, I can see the D-comp being used for beautiful string sounds, rock, techno, outer space fantasies, etc. Ok - I think I conveyed my first impression. Usually, I want some gear really bad and it does not live up to my expectations. This is the second time audioscape has exceeded my high hopes! (Ha I quoted myself instead of chessparov above. I guess I got excited!) P.S. I had this recorded violin. I did not realize how strident it was until I put it through the D-comp. I turned it into a beautiful butter-lin - that really fits for the particular piece. I had to go back and forth with the bypass to make sure this was really happening.

Thank you, Ward. I have the optos and they are awesome!!! And I tried a lot of optos. I have not tried the V-comp yet. The D3a is on my list. But I did not expect the D-comp to be able to do smooth and sweet! That surprised me. Seriously, the violin track knocked me out what the D-comp did with it!
So - I am hoping a D3a is available tomorrow - and maybe I will pick up a V-comp too. I love these audioscape people. Their communications with me have been top notch.
