discontinued?? wow. Okay then. I still need a 2nd one so I'll have a pair. You can still get them in the US it seems. In Europe they are gone. yeah i see them pop up on reverb a lot. But I bought mine originally when the sale was going 2 for 300. And I should have bought 2 but was in college... So it's hard to part near 200 for 1! haha

2 more mono input strips for the DDA FMR, the thing is in storage in pieces but if I ever find a space it’s there. Now I need to find some FMR Forum/ FMR stereo modules and spend a ton with Jim Williams!

I bought a slightly used Mooer GE300 Lite. It's a guitar floorboard multi FX unit. I was looking at the HX Stomp but this had better features. I will be using it mainly as an IR loader for acoustic instruments. I've been doing that with a Joyo Cab Box but this GE300 Lite will also give me some FX so I only need one pedal for my 9 instruments I use on stage. With IR loading (and custom made IRs by me) I can get my mandolin to sound nearly identical to a mic. This is the biggest advancement in acoustic sound reproduction for concerts that I have ever worked with. Pretty cool.

I’ve used the originals, and other Spectra gear old and new. I’m mostly interested in trying them as peak limiters as the first thing on a mix buss, like some mastering engineers has been doing, to see how that works before hitting a mix buss compressor. The idea of limiting program peaks before the compressor makes sense, and I work with a lot of banjos (in particular) that have very loud peaks I’m hoping it’ll make everything sound a bit smoother and be able to bring up RMS without it being overcompressed or distorted. But, we’ll see! I got one as payment for mixing a record, and Bill gave me a great price on a second one so I could have a matched pair

I spent $50 on the PA sale I wasn't planning to, mainly to add some additional AAX DSP plug-ins. I got bx_console N, bx_masterdesk, bx_rockrack and a second license for Purple MC77 bundled with Carbon this week, then added townhouse Buss Compressor, SPL Passeq and Metric AB using the three $20 off vouchers. The new year $21 PA voucher also got me to pop $19 for ProAudioDSM V3. Just did the Humble AAS bundle for $20, which only netted me Objeq Delay and an Entangled Species sound pack, but 100% went to charity and I got the Kicks & Snares and Sounds from BLKRTZ VA-3 sound packs free at X-mas, time to swap all these duplicate sound pack licenses that are piling up.

You can make some good drum hits with the AAS Analog synth. I've never done it, but for sort of a "pure electro" sound I think it could be a good one to dive into. Probably much easier just to use samples, but sometimes it's fun to do extra work.

PSP Infinistrip on discount to put my money where my mouth is. The aliasing is low on it for drum processing and I needed a better workflow because multiple instances of Tokyo Dawn Slick EQ GE crash when switching betweeen GUIs of it in Reaper 64-bit VST3.

Just received 4 Iron Age Thickflick opamps . I installed them in a pair of Capi VC 528 ml2 ‘s . Put on the mix bus and wow. Very detailed and open compared to the OA 10 opamps that were in the Capi ‘s originally.. wasn’t expecting that .

V610’s came early! Going to fire them up tomorrow. I also pulled the trigger on a RCA BK5B. They’ve been going up in price and wanted to grab one when I still could!

I checked out a new pair of Pultec EQP-500x eqs today. I really like them. I guess I am on a 500 roll these days. Except I really, really want a Silver Bullet, but I just do not know when one may be available.

Just built this funny little ten dollar (ish) omni condenser microphone, because why not. Basically sounds like the Avenson STO-2 I used to have, which saves me 200 bucks. Later on I'll build some that look better, and some modified for high SPL. And some with higher end Japanese capsules (a dollar vs. 10 dollars for the capsules.) It's a JLI 61A capsule, with a Pansonic 4.7uF capacitor, and a 150K Ohm resistor, inside a Neutrik adapter thingy that I had to hollow out for the new business. Schematic is readily available "P48" circuit. In the second photo, hard to see, the "dongle" is epoxied to the body, the first photo was just after the soldering and assembly was finished.
