Not audio gear, but just got a Lumix G7. I always laugh at myself for being such a cork sniffer about music gear, when I've been a videographer for almost 10 years and barely give a shit about what photo/video gear I use. I'm more than happy to use budget stuff like this Panasonic. A camera from 2015 that does 4K and comes with two very respectable lenses for $600? Sign me up. Another gh4 lumix user here. I am a sucker for buying more of there lumix lenses.

Another gh4 lumix user here. I am a sucker for buying more of there lumix lenses. Nice! Yeah I definitely want to get a decent prime at some point, maybe the 25mm or the 42.5mm. But man... the kit lenses are just crazy good for the price. The cheaper Panasonics all punch WAY above their weight.

The wife and I closed on our house this morning. The house is on an acre of property, includes a giant barn, and is 30 mins from NYC. Couldn’t be happier. Pics of studio build out to come in the future! Welcome to the emotional roller coaster!! This is where I was 6 years ago. (not about me... just relating... 2 acres of land, converted the old garage into the control room after I built a barn style building and that became my main live room and booth on the side. Anyhow, now we have a beautiful studio, great playground for the two smallest kids (4 and 9), a soccer/baseball/whatever field, lovely greenhouse, fillcrete (pseudo concrete) pad with an above ground swimming pool all nestled behind a 60 year old farmhouse.) It'll suck every penny out of you, but be totally worth it! Just forget about retiring by 65 or 70. LOL I'm really happy for you! O:)

Since monitors seem to be the trend... Added a 27" curved monitor. That's the largest that can fit on my desk. And yes, it still has the plastic on it. My wife keeps asking if I'm going to keep it, do I really need it (do we ever really need new gear?), and when is this spending going to end. I told her there are a few guys here she needs to talk to. Or maybe she needs to talk to your wives. In fact, maybe they need their own forum. "Real Girls Online" Attachment Deleted

I told her there are a few guys here she needs to talk to. Like me. And she probably will. ;-) Now now, don't be doing that! A fella could get really taken to task for saying that in a lot of places!!

Fuse’s TAB U373 and U376 emulations. These are the heaviest plugins in quite some time. These are not the 73 and 76 used in 50s and 60s rock. These are Class A BJT madness! The 373 is a 2254 on crack with no thud. Shove these high gain monsters on high gain music and magic happens!

I just scored a very nice 19" 60s Zildjian crash for a great price on the auction site Offer Up. It's only the second time I've used the site but it worked fine. Attachment Deleted

Those two brand new Sennheiser 441-U4s arrived from Zen Pro a couple days ago. Cases have changed, otherwise seem the same as the past 30 years.

Like all old shit I buy, it’s not working, but I bought a Brick Audio plate reverb. It’s a small, rather cute design. The plate itself is 3’ long and 1’ wide. It appears to use piezo pickups and a piezo transducers/buzzers instead of a speaker driver like most plates...but those all broke off. I found the makers email and he’s going to send me some replacements (piezo stuff is cheap) and then we’ll see how it sounds!

I bought a Gretsch Duo Jet G6128T-59. Should arrive tomorrow sometime. I had bought a G5228 and thought it was an incredible guitar so I have to try the one that started it all. All the Jets that is... I know the design dates way back to the 1950's but I still believe it to be one of the classiest looking guitars ever made. In the last couple years, I've really been getting into the FilterTron type pickups. They have the clarity of a Telecaster without the hum. Much nicer than a Les Paul IMO. I suppose if I played metal, I might not think so highly of them. Then again, Malcolm Young made some pretty great sounding records with a Duo Jet. Highly under-rated guitars if you ask me. I had an Electromatic Pro Jet and that was a pretty sweet guitar, it's one that got away. Some you don't want back, but that one, I definitely want another one later.
I don't know if you have the TV Jones pickups in there but they are pretty sweet. I have a Classic in the neck of one of my Supro guitars. It's bright and bold but there's something "right" about it. However the stock Gretsch brand Filter Tron pickups are OK by me also, I have used those happily in other guitars.
These are really not les pauls at all, totally different animals.

Looky what arrived here today: It was supposed to have a Telefunken EF86 (or at least that was my understanding), but instead it has a Philips EF86. Oh well, no matter. I'm just glad to finally have the mic! I can always roll some other tube into it in the future. I plan on hooking it up and getting some sounds with it over the weekend. I'll try and do an A/B between it and my Soyuz 017FET. Probably acoustic guitar and vocal.

Solid mic.

Will do, this weekend i'll be using it on acs guitar. I've never used a real 67 so I don't know how close it got, but it sounds good to me. Curious how you find it when you try it out.
BTW: the grill bends super easy, I put very light pressure on mine just cause I wanted to feel the grill and unfortunately bent it inward.

I hope it kills the Soyuz 17 fet so you can sell that to me.
Actually either one I dont mind.
Enjoy your fun weekend.

I got Sonnox/Oxford Inflator from AudioDeluxe, which is $35 USD right now, been waiting for this one.
Also got two music stands, I don't really need them very often, but I think they could come in handy.
I know none of this is terribly exciting I've mostly been fixing up things I already have.

Man, I'm gonna buy the Oxford. I had that thing probably 15 years ago and it was cool then. Wonder how it holds up today.
