Kick’en it old school ! Bought from Doug (emrr ) he’s recapping and setting them up . I’m giddy as school girl on prom night lol RCA ba33b. And a 1940’s Gates 61b tube pre UTC HA series transformers and octal tubes. I'd be giddy too! That's some serious mojo/vibe/tone there! CONGRATS Well I'm jealous! We're not allowed THAT much Mojo in California, until the numbers get better. Chris

Thank God that Seymnour Duncan and team invented the convertible amp that other amp manufacturers are still trying to copy, almost 40 years later!! Egnator included. My old boss told me Seymour reached out to Seth Lover to make the lover bucker and get him some freakin credit for making the PAF, something Gibson was fine leaving him without any sort of royalties for. That’s a pretty stand up thing to do.. and sounds freakin amazing, probably my favorite SD pickup. But that’s a whole other thread ;D ...

Well as long as the topic came up, I freakin love those Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups. They are legit. Gibson Burstbuckers are much darker and grungier but they work in other guitars. I also like Dimarzio pickups, Bill Lawrence, and on and on it's a deep topic for sure.

One of those rare instances where a good guy finished first instead of last. amazing gentleman.

My original guitar hero Billy Corgan uses those modular amps for the past long while, I believe. Unless he just went back to the Marshall heads or something, hard to keep track. It's great to see them with someone here, a gear-heads' gear-head would only know about those I think. The funny thing about Corgan is he claims that he doesn't care about gear. But it's really obvious that one would have to, to have something that cool. His touring rhythm player was really the modular gear head, he got Salvation mods in the Czech Republic to build custom preamps for both their touring rigs. That photo has five different company's designs in it, the Fryette, a Salvation mods' Mark IIC+ below it, a Randall Grail Rectifier red channel to it's left, a Jaded Faith mods' Vox to the upper left, and an Egnater SL2X Slash mod sitting on top. I use them the same way everybody else on the planet uses modelers, just louder... Always nice to have a variety of tones at hand - my little pre-amp collection. 11 different tone channels to play with Attachments:

A couple of new pieces I'm very happy with! First, the Smart C1LA, the buss comp search is over, this thing is super glue! Second, the AudioScape Opto Compressor. I had a chance to demo one of these a couple of years ago but I swear it's even better than I remembered. Tried it out on a bunch of different sources today and it never didn't work. Very impressed! They are both keepers for sure. Last but not least, the penn elcom vented 1ru spacers you can see in the AudioScape pic were a nice addition as well.

Kensington Expert Trackball wired version for my wrist pain. The rest works great and the buttons are easier to press than the slim blade. Mice gave me wrist pain from a callous and rsi in my fingers from stiff buttons.

Not that bad. It's not clean. But it's an acquiring taste.

Snagged a Neumann K49 at a great price! This is an unused capsule from 1995. Replaced a Thiersch M7 in my U47 (Flea body/headbasket, Flea transformer, Andreas Grosser hand-selected EF12). Capsule mount from AMI.

Hard to compete with that last one but I got the Black Rooster Audio Ashly compressor bundle for $10. I used the code "APGEASTEREGG"
They are nice compressors, plugins. The free ones they gave are nice too, I used the Canary to make my snare stick out more, kind of impressed.

KM85 on reverb for 800.00. I only wanted the body as I have an extra KM84 capsule and My goal was to have a pair of km84s. But this is a really nice addition. It makes my boomy Guild D25 sound like a different guitar. I though the low end cut would be more drastic but it seems to start around 100hz up gradually up to 500hz. Which actually works in this case. Nice tight pattern eliminates some of the crappy control room. Happy guy here.

I got the beezneez 87 which I haven't checked out much yet. I have a session soon and I'm going to put it through it's paces during that session.
Secondly, I picked up a used set of m570 monoprice planar headphones. I've had planar speakers before, but never headphones. They're taking some getting used to, but seem to sound pretty good if not a little too airy on top. Bass is solid. Seem to point out flaws in mixes which will be good for mixing.

@toddj I had been doing better but, I had been wanting a versatile, beater guitar and this 2000 MIM Tele Custom fits the bill. Not that much money and it already has character marks. sorry it’s sideways

The free ones they gave are nice too, I used the Canary to make my snare stick out more, kind of impressed. Thanks for this, just picked them up for the 10 bucks. I had skipped Black Rooster's stayathome bundle deal, but saw a lot of folks were happy with it, just had no desire for yet another LA-2A/LA-3A/1176 rendition. Then Focusrite gave a Magnetite license to all their hardware users this month, so I ended up making a Black Rooster account to install that plus their other freebies. Worth at least a $10 gratuity and the Ashleys will be fun to play with. Got a similar deal from SSL, remote engineer bought their 2 interface for a job and had no interest in the included iLok plug-ins, so we registered them to the studio machine: SSL Native Drumstrip, VocalStrip 2 and ye olde Avid Classic Compressors bundle, so another LA-2A/LA-3A/1176 rendition... of course I had been using Arturia's Analog Lab 4 with their extended demo until July 3rd and just grabbed this offer for an additional 3 months: Pro Audio Star Giveaway That and Akai's new free version of their DAW/plug-in: MPC Beats have been fun electronic explorations.
