My United Studio Technologies FET47 arrived Friday. It’s extremely well built. I’ve never used a real one, but this sounds great on outside kick, as you would expect. If you want some forum bonus points put up some clips! I'm really interested in that mic. Chad is on this forum sometimes, too. I’ll try to get around to this.

Well I did end up buying one of these. Langevin Dual Vocal Combo. It is definitely clean sounding. Did a quick vocal check and the Eq works like it should, the Limiter is nothing fancy but does it's job. It is really amazing what sort of options we have today at our finger tips compared to some of the units from yesteryear like this which costs a fortune where I come from. Looking forward to spending some time with it to see if it fits in with my work flow. I must say it is well built and everything seems very solid on it, except maybe the turn knobs. They kinda feel loose but they aren't.

Yes, Manley had rights to the Langevin name for years, used it for SS equipment. The ELOP and Pultec were both pieces available in tube or SS. The Langevin Mini-Massive was very well regarded, many said it had aspects that were better than the Massive Passive. www.manley.com/legacy-products

To go with my new video card on my classic Mac Pro, I picked up a 32" 4k LG monitor for $350. It's nice and big. Picture looks good. I haven't edited video on it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Finally found a new motherboard at Central Computers in SF. ASUS “Tuf gaming”. Hopefully I can get back to work ...Man, the city felt messed up, windows boarded up everywhere, everyone with masks and hardly anyone out and about. I saw they had a few motherboards in stock on the website, but they wouldn’t even let me into the store, even though their phone said they would. Instead I had to yell through my mask, through the glass, and they went and brought back 2 motherboards, and I looked at them through the door. Choose 1, LOL... Drove by Guitar Center on the way out of town, it was all plywooded up. I really need stuff, not motherboards, but $100 every couple years isn’t that much, just frustrating when they die. www.centralcomputer.com/asus-tuf-b450-plus-gaming-am4-ryzen-ddr4pcie-3-0-6x-sata6gbps-2x-m-2-dvi-d-hdmi-1-4-vga-gbe-lan-port-6x-usb3-0.html

And I sold all my regular Manley gear a while back snyhow. It just didn't resonate with me.

Fryette Deliverance preamp module, uh, delivered. Always associated Fryette with dry high gain but finally ordered their preamp based on demos of it's green channel doing a wide range of Marshally semi-cleans. It does not disappoint, loves being boosted with various dirt pedals in front.

Thank God that Seymnour Duncan and team invented the convertible amp that other amp manufacturers are still trying to copy, almost 40 years later!! Egnator included.

My original guitar hero Billy Corgan uses those modular amps for the past long while, I believe. Unless he just went back to the Marshall heads or something, hard to keep track. It's great to see them with someone here, a gear-heads' gear-head would only know about those I think. The funny thing about Corgan is he claims that he doesn't care about gear. But it's really obvious that one would have to, to have something that cool.

But it's really obvious that one would have to, to have something that cool. His touring rhythm player was really the modular gear head, he got Salvation mods in the Czech Republic to build custom preamps for both their touring rigs. That photo has five different company's designs in it, the Fryette, a Salvation mods' Mark IIC+ below it, a Randall Grail Rectifier red channel to it's left, a Jaded Faith mods' Vox to the upper left, and an Egnater SL2X Slash mod sitting on top. I use them the same way everybody else on the planet uses modelers, just louder...
