Not the most exciting, but I just got a couple of Vanguard SDC shockmounts, in the hopes that the rubber rings wont be as hard on the finish as the Schoeps shockmounts are. The body of the Vanguard mount itself seems to be aluminum.

Took the Thermionic Culture Snow Petrel tube preamp on board here. It is a high gain tube mic amp made to be used with ribbon mics. Beautiful liquid sound with great detail. Don't worry Hudson, that'll sound great on the new rap song I just made up. It's even "Badder" than that last one. It's a blend of Eminem and Beathoven. Chris

Couple AKG C451EB to go with CK22 capsules I bought. They came with the shotgun capsules, which will soon be for sale. Need to track down a decent deal on a pair of black CK1 capsules now

I got a Radial Headlight and a Countryman 85.
The Headlight is a 4 way amp switcher and it works great. I didn't even know it existed but when I did I bought it immediately.
The Countryman I just wanted to hear, didn't really need it.

My United Studio Technologies FET47 arrived Friday. It’s extremely well built. I’ve never used a real one, but this sounds great on outside kick, as you would expect.

I'd been going back and forth for months on whether to get a new Mac (or, well, new to me) or to upgrade my old classic Mac Pro original cheesegrater even further with a new graphics card. Well, after the Apple Silicon announcements, I decided to upgrade my graphics card and get a few more months or even a year out of my current machine. An EFI-flashed AMD RX580 arrived on my doorstep yesterday, and I cleaned out my Mac and installed it last night. So I was finally able to upgrade to Mojave, as well as update Final Cut and Logic. For anyone interested in doing this kind of thing, it now puts my machine as a - 4,1 flashed to 5,1 (bought it this way years ago)
- upgraded CPU to 2 x 3.33GHz 6-core Xeon (again, I bought it this way)
- 32GB DDR3 RAM (once again, bought it like this)
- USB 3.0 card (I installed this - ha, easiest thing in the world to do)
- upgraded graphics card to RX580 8GB
I love these old machines, and hopefully the 580 gives me a few more months to a year. But even with the CPU upgrade, this is an old processor.

Upgraded both my cheese graters to Mojave, and to do so had both upgraded to 5,1 , NVIDA GeForce GT640, 3.46 Ghz Dual 6 Core Xeon's, 64G Ram, etc., etc. I'm on HDX, and honestly, I expect another 3-5 years out of them. Congrats. Hope it lasts you a long time!

Probably best machine I've ever owned. I'd just been trying to decide whether or not to ditch it b/c I'm not on a DSP-based system and needed much better graphics performance for film work. If we hadn't had the economic downturn (and/or the Apple Silicon transition), I was planning on a refurbished iMac Pro this year.

KM84 #2 arrived and has been tested! So did its wooden box from Telefunken.
YAY!
I've been waiting for this since I got my first one. As far as I can tell the only thing wrong with this is the loose badge. Guess I need superglue....

I got an iPhone 6S. The headphone amp is not as good as the headphone amp on the 5C I had that broke. But it's the last iphone with a headphone amp, I believe.
It's really fun to sit out on the porch with john coltrane, Cranberries, or something, in the AKG K702 headphones.

And don't worry John E. we'll save that "Eeawww" vocal part for you. Kinda like the beginning "laugh" in Wipeout. It could never be the same without you. Hey maybe we ought to get Adam Brass in on it too. Could use a Brass section! Chris

Congrats, 6 channels of 80 Series is the ticket! Well, I’ve got the four channels you see in the photo (Neve 1073 DPX and (2) ACMP-84 which I really want to upgrade) and I’ve got that Dan Alexander 1272 dual channel preamp on the side. I may grab a pair of the new BAE 1073 500EQs to use with that piece. It has mojo for days. I’m really hoping for an (8) channel Neve rig with a 33609 as well. I’d love a second Dan Alexander if a decent one pops up. Might just grab a dual channel preamp only BAE. I’m also curious about Vintage Audio’s 1272 clone. That’s revive audio’s gear brand. If their ACMP84 upgrade is good it may be worth considering.
