I have a Mustang and dig it! Congrats, man! I have one of those too. Mine’s the white one with the mint guard. Really cool instrument. Now if I could just learn how to play a bass like a bass player instead of a guitar player. Haha! First step, IMO, is to completely ditch the plectrum. Work on your two, maybe three finger technique. That has taken me way, way longer than I thought it would, and I'm still working on it. It's not "easy." Maybe this is obvious but I also recommend listening to a ton off bass-heavy music. You learn by hearing sometimes. Also, music like that kicks ass, drum and bass, love it. Funk, etc.

Picked up a license for Avid HEAT at a pretty good deal.
Been playing around with it and like it so far, a little goes a long way. Nice that it's integrated into the PT mixer, very convenient. I use Phoenix II quite a bit and they're both by Dave Hill.
Figure if I don't like it I can probably sell for what it costs pretty easy.

I have never owned it but have mixed with it at other places. FWIW, my takeaway over a few projects was that it's better to get the sound you want, then dial it back a click for translation in the real world.

Picked up an Eastman E1D acoustic which arr today to break up the New Zealand lockdown after almost 3 months without an instrument. It's the bottom line of their solid timber models with Sitka top, sapele back and sides and mahogany neck. A cheap but very nice instrument ; minimum embellishments that plays really accurately with a big sound.
Cheers, Ross

After putting money aside since this thing was just a rumor and selling a Beard Square neck and Collings Mandolin I rarely played, I was able to fund this beast to replace my i7 quad core mac mini. The 10% veteran's discount and 3% back on the apple card didn't hurt either.

My 2009 got a new lease of life a few years ago with the processor upgrade but again is starting to groan with some sessions. I know it's inevitable I'll have to get one eventually... probably be posting more in the 'What Gear Did You Let Go' thread to make it happen.

I know what you mean about letting some gear go to make it happen. The Beard and Collings I sold just about covered it. This thing is a beast. I got the 16 core and left the ram stock for now but will upgrade that latter. So far it is pretty amazing compared to my quad core i7 mac mini. I still have the mac mini set up for comparison and I am already frustrated on how long it takes the mini to respond compared to the mac pro. I just finished doing a clean install of everything I need and started recording some guitars and vocals. Tracking with a 32 buffer in Studio One 4.5 with plugins inserted on the vocal and guitar, superior drummer, and sends to reverb and delay, the processor barely registers at around 9% CPU. The other thing that amazes me is how silent it is. Places where the fan on the mini would run like crazy, the pro is virtually silent. I have to put my ear right next to it to hear if it is even running.

I snagged some Slingerland drums and some more GIK acoustic panels and EZacoustics? diffusers. I think I've bought every second hand panel that's come up for sale in Nashville this year. Trying to get the home space dialed in

Just got an old beat up Electro-Voice RE10. Wow, these things sound like crap. There's something wrong with it. Hope you didn't pay too much - dunno if you can get parts anymore.

Now if I could just learn how to play a bass like a bass player instead of a guitar player. You'll probably need a bass player's bass....
